Another shiver ran down her spine. How long would it take her to light it? The cabin had lost power ages ago though it hadn't been a problem until the sunset. Once the sun was no longer in sight, the cottage started to feel more like a breezy mountaintop than what's supposed to be a romantic retreat for couples.
"Yes!" A spark emerged from the wood, slowly engulfing the rest of it. The heat slowly warmed the air around it. Hermione offered Pansy a place right next to her. She had been reluctant to leave her blanket pile, but after sticking one foot out in the direction of the fire, she quickly took a quilt big enough for the two and promptly plopped herself down next to Hermione.
She laid the quilt atop them, careful to avoid the flickering flames. Hermione sleepily yawned before resting her head gently on Pansy's legs. Pansy tenderly moved a hand onto her hair and stroked it, slowly guiding her to sleep. To think that her childish ways almost prevented her from being with this amazing woman is shameful. If only she could have realised how astonishing she was sooner.
It wasn't exactly what she had wished for when they went on this trip, though she supposes that having her lover's head in her lap in front of a cosy bundle of lit wood isn't too bad.
