Giyu was on a mission, walking towards a small town very far from the Corps Headquarters.
Why is it so far..? he wondered. The sun was setting and he was on a path far away from any accommodation, and Tomioka had wasted all his energy from running all day. Even after mastering Total Concentration: Constant, he still couldn't run forever and never get tired.
The sun could barely be seen on the horizon, and Giyu began to think. If he was attacked by a demon out here, there'd be no protection...
"This is why no one like you, Tomioka..!" he smacked his forehead, repeating the words Kocho often said to him.
The sun had now fully set, dimly lit stars beginning to form uneven lines in the sky. He had his hand on his nichirin sword, trying his best to stay alert. This was harder then it should have been, because Tomioka had wasted his energy earlier that day.
He walked for 15 more minutes before something moved behind him. Tomioka gripped his blade, removing it from its scabbard. His usually keen eyes were blurry due to tiredness and lack of rest. His back slumped slightly and his arms shook with exhaustion. Stay awake! If a demon catches you like this, you're-
"Dead meat."
Giyu turned towards the voice, only to be greeted by gleaming red eyes and elegant dark hair. (Yes, you can call the bad guys elegant-)
"From what I've heard, I'd assume that you're the Water Pillar, correct?" the man said, walking out into the moonlight. "I've been waiting for a Hashira to arrive for so long... It was sad of Kagaya to keep me waiting."
"You have no right to speak the master's..." Giyu cut himself off with a yawn. "Name..!"
The stranger snickered, picking at his dagger-like nails. "I thought Hashira were formidable... But I do know that humans have their limits."
"Enough delay, who are you? I can sense that you aren't a weak demon, but your strength is equal to that of an Upper-Rank. Yet, your eyes have no imprinted number... So who are you?"
The man laughed humorlessly, his eyes observing the tired Pillar closely. "My, my... How bright you are." the man's face suddenly went dark, making a sense of intense peril wash over Tomioka. "I am Kibutsuji Muzan, the demon king."
Tomioka's eyes widened, and he began to panic. You're face-to-face with the demon king, and you're half-asleep and exhausted! his legs shook slightly, more from exhaustion then fear. Look, just do whatever damage you can... Anything for the Corps and everyone you've sworn to protect! For Tanjiro, for Nezuko and for Sabito...
Giyu leaped at Kibutsuji, swinging his blade with the strength of a Mizunoto ranked slayer. He mentally cursed himself, trying to steady his breathing. Water Breathing, First Form-
Giyu was struck from the air before he could prepare his attack, hitting tree with an intense force. He felt his spine crack and he screamed in pain. He felt his lower body go numb, losing feeling all the way from his toes to his hips.
"You have good agility..." Kibutsuji said, walking closer to consider Tomioka's state. "Even half-asleep, you pushed your boundaries to take down your enemy. I can only imagine how useful a demon you'd be."
Giyu's eyes widened at this statement. He went to protest, but instead broke out in a coughing fit, blood spitting from his jaw.
"Its kind of pathetic, really, but you still fight. Well, I need a new Upper 6 anyways..." Kibutsuji said, moving closer to Tomioka. Giyu went to swing his sword, only for Muzan to rip off his arm, causing his to scream even more. With a smirk, Kibutsuji pushed his finger into the Pillar's forehead, inserting his own blood into the Hashira's system. Giyu screamed at the transfusion, the strength of the blood almost too much to handle.
"When you've finished this little transformation, I want you to find your own territory. Most of the twelve Kizuki have one, and it would be a shame to have you walking about in the open."
With that, Kibutsuji began to walk away. A loud cry rang through the sky as Tomioka's crow lunged at him, but Muzan hit it from the sky, sending it to the ground with a loud crack of bones. It was still squirming, which proved it to be alive, but there was a large chance that it would die.
"Farewell, Upper 6..." Muzan said, disappearing into the shadows for the last time.
Several hours had passed before the transformation was completed. Tomioka woke up, a number imprinted in his eye and strange markings on his face. Worse, he had no memory of his former life, only the command that Kibutsuji had given him before: "Find your own territory."
Tomioka stood and stretched. He'd find a territory best suited to him later; right now, he needed blood... Human blood.

To, um, here's what Tomioka looks like:
The eyes in my story say "Upper 6", but I don't know what they say in this image.
So hope you enjoyed Chapter 1. Bye!!!
