Tomioka felt as if he were drowning, the pressure too intense.
Then, there was a light.

Behind him, Giyu could feel the tug of a dark, merciless void.

He knew that was where he belonged. After all, he had slaughtered innocents.

Yet, no matter what he told himself, he was drawn more towards the light.

"No," he choked out, scolding himself. He felt the tears run down his face — his human face! — and fall into the endless rift below him. "You don't deserve it—"

"Yes, you do."

Tomioka's breath hitched, and he looked up up see her; Tsutako.

"Giyu, I don't care what you did!" she sobbed, reaching her arms out to him. "Come with me!"

His knees suddenly felt weak, and all of his instincts screamed at him to go to her.
But he knew he couldn't.

"I'm sorry, Tsutako," he whispered. "But I don't belong in heaven."

Ignoring his sister's protests, Giyu turned towards the darkness.

He could hear Tsutako's begging and screaming as the flames engulfed his body.

"Bye-bye, Tsutako..."
