I was just thinking off the top of my head-Sonny De La Vegax reader.

Pilot

Y/N's POV:

"Here we were. Washington Heights. or should I say 'In the heights?' " Said mum brushing the hair from her face to collect her bag.

"Damn from Indiana?! That trip felt like a whole year!!" Gasped Mila. 

A bit of background info is that we lived in an extremely small town where everyone knew each other and came together but here was different apparently. I didn't want to move because it felt like I was leaving my family! Our dad was still there for "work" but we know that he doesn't love mum anymore and they wouldn't want us to see them go through that awkward pain. 

I sighed and heaved my bag out of the train when it came to a stop. The weather was so sunny and humid I wanted to faint. The second we got out of the train Mila started to complain. "Ugh, mum it's so hot! I'm going to die. At least can you carry one of my bags?!"

Mum looked so tired and sick of everything so I butted in "Mila we are going to catch a taxi into the town! Just stop complaining for two seconds and walk down the ramp!" To be honest I was sick of her too. By the time we got there, everyone had hopped into their cooled cars that it was easy to hail a Taxi! I don't remember much because it was quite hot and I see why Mila was complaining but, of course, I don't tell her that.

we finally got there after about maybe 30 minutes. We found our apartment block and climbed up the flights of stairs! I was bursting with excitement and booked up them like a monkey. I had bought my breath by the time Mum and Mila got up. Mum tossed me the keys and I got the door open. Wow, the place was small but it had enough bedrooms and air conditioning! It only took me an hour to get my room organised. After everyone was chilled out I got bored. 

"Hey, mum I'm going for a walk!!" I yelled out waiting for her reply. "Okay!! If you pass the Bodega can you get some milk and get your sister a Cola?!" She yelled back from the other room. I walk down the street seeing people sitting in chairs with hand fans blowing the air into their faces. They wave and I give them friendly smiles back. It feels like I've been here forever... I go to the end of the street and see the Bodega. I walk in expecting some old man to be running it but instead a boy around my age sitting bored like on the counter.  I rush past seeing him hop off the counter out of the corner of my eye, I look for the Cola and Milk and take them to the register. 

"Just these two please!" I say reaching into my pocket for money. shit... I forgot it!

The boy scanned the and said "You look new... Have you moved into that new apartment block?" I nod searching my purse for any money. " it's fine! Have it for free because you're new! Can I have your name? I might see you around." He says. "uh I'm Y/N Ortega and thank you so much!" I smile taking my things. "nice to meet you! I'm sonny De la Vega" He grins. I hear the door open and see a taller man walk in. 

"Yo Cuz! we need to restock the milk!" Sonny says as the older guy walks in. I place my purse into my bag as the older one says "It's fine sonny I don't think the milk is as fresh as it was two days ago. No one is gonna buy it." I turn around and look at sonny as he looks at me and laughs. "Oh sorry..." Shrugs the older one. I laugh and leave. maybe I shouldn't let my family drink this milk...

I'm halfway up the street when I hear fast footsteps coming up behind me. I turn around to see Sonny running after me. "Sorry!! but I was wondering if you want to be friends? O can show you around and stuff. Also, I wanted to apologise on behalf of my cousin Usnavi. He's a bit grumpy because he got rejected by someone too good for him." Sonny says rolling his eyes. I giggle and say " I would love to be friends! but is it that obvious that I'm new and need showing around?" Sonny rubs the back of his head and says "maybe.." with a smirk on his face. "Well, I'll see ya around!" He says running back off. I smile and wave feeling my stomach getting these butterflies. EEEEK! I think. I've made my first friend and I am only like  3hours into being here!
