Your cries to the stars woke me up last night.
They were reflecting, looking down on
both of us shining their light.
It was the beacon you needed to reach,
and my guide to search for you.
Midnight, I was outside running endlessly,
trying to bring your safe hands home,
so you wouldn't break down alone.
I can't let you fracture
I can't let it consume you to...
I can't let that happen again.
It was your nightmare that seeped,
deeply,
breaking,
yearnful
into my sleeping heart.
Cries that screamed for silence,
those well known soundless screams
praying for a drowning kiss.
Let me inside, I'll lock the doors;
away, protected from that fatal destiny.
Let me inside, I'll leave you
to a curing kiss goodnight
of your sleepless suffering.
Let your heart rhythm play
just one more string...
I'm nearly beside you
just a heartbeats reach
two pulses,
don't leave me alone with mine
so reach out finally
into our beacon.
-knock knock... please open up now.
