Saturday spent as Darling

Don't ask me how it happened, because trust me, I have no clue.

It started out like any other Saturday, me being at home alone and extremely lazy. It never bothered me, staying in my pajamas until noon.

That's why I was extremely unhappy when the doorbell rang at 11:13. I couldn't keep the scowl off of my face as I yanked open the door.

I still couldn't stop scowling when I discovered Ava standing there .

"What could you possible want?" I spat at her.

"Morning to you too." she replied as she moved around me and into my house.

That's one of the things I love about Ava. I'm not a morning person and she knows it. But that doesn't mean anything, she's just as sarcastic and loud as she would be any other time.

"Okay, first things first-"

"I'm the realist!" I sang as I interrupted her, "Drop dis and let the whole world feel it!"

"Can you shut up now?" She asked annoyed.

"I'M SO FANCY!!!" I screamed, "Okay, all done."

God how I loved being sarcastic in the mornings, and at all other times.

"Good, as I was saying... You need to get dressed,"

"Why? It's only 11:21!" I whined.

"Less talky more dressy."

"That doesn't even make sense."

But nonetheless I let Ava drag me upstairs and rummage through my closet.

"What about this one?" I looked at the silky, dark blue dress that Ava was holding.

"Um... no,"

"This?" The bubblegum pink dress in her hand made me wince.

"Definitely not,"

"This is it for sure!" She gasped as she pulled out a knee length, sea green dress.

"Why are you picking out dresses?" I asked suddenly curious.

"God, do I have to do everything myself?"

"God says yes," I reply sarcastically, again.

"Today's the junior picnic, and you already agreed to go. It starts at noon, so hurry!" She yelled tossing the sea green dress at me.

I sighed but put the dress on anyway, knowing there was no point in arguing with Ava.

When I was done with that, I let my crazy best friend do my hair and makeup. I ended up with a light dust of silver eyeshadow and some mascara. My hair fell in soft waves around my face, making me feel spectacular.

"Okay, all done. Now go get in the car!" Ava commanded.

She had come already in her outfit and makeup so she was all set to go.

I get into Ava's car and she speeds off towards the park.

I walk down the short pebble path with Ava, heading towards the area reserved for the juniors.

There are picnic tables and blankets spread out along the bright green grass. There is a small beach with water from the lake lapping onto the shore.

"Hey girls!" A familiar voice exclaims.

I scan the area around us until my gaze settles on two boys walking towards us. Mark Henry, Ava's boyfriend, makes his way towards us with his best friend in tow. Ryan Lithe.
