He was pissing me off.

After I woke up yesterday after Ryan saved me, I was surprisingly back in my own house. I saw a note from Ryan explaining how he dropped me off.

It's currently fifth period, the period before lunch, and Ryan has taken the liberty of acting as if I owe him some big favor or something.

"Psst! Zoe!" Ryan whispered as he prodded me with a pencil, instead of taking the history notes. I looked over at him, annoyed.

"What?"

"Give me a piece of gum," he demanded. My mouth dropped open and I stared at him, wondering if he was serious.

"No," I spat when I realized that he was, in fact, serious.

"But you owe me!"

"For what?"

"From when I saved you from your uncle!"

"That does not mean I become your personal slave!"

"Fine, then I guess I'll just tell everyone about how your uncle beats you," he said casually. I gasped and dropped my pencil.

"You wouldn't,"

"Oh, actually I would,"

"I can't believe you wou-"

"Mr. Lithe, Miss Timmons! Does my class bore you?" the teacher cut in glaring at us both.

"No sir," I answered at the same time Ryan said,

"Yes, actually,"

Mr. Phillips, the teacher, sighed and turned back to the lesson. I avoided eye contact with Ryan for the rest of the period and when the bell rang, I shot out of my seat.

"Zoe, wait!" Ryan called after me and I slowly turned around. He was standing at his locker motioning for me to come over to him.

"What?" I asked as I approached him, crossing my arms.

"I wasn't serious. I wouldn't actually tell people about that," It took me a moment to figure out that he was talking about my uncle.

"Oh," I breathed a sigh of relief, "Thanks,"

"Welcome," he said, flashing me his cocky smirk.

I rolled my eyes at him when my attention was caught by three very fake, very snobby looking Barbies coming our way.

The girl on the left was Olivia Hunt. Brown haired, brown eyed gossip queen. She knew just about everything about everyone. She was also the smartest of the group, well... as smart as Barbie dolls could get anyway.

On the left was Taylor Mauna. Blonde haired idiot. No matter what you said to her, nothing could be processed through her tiny brain. Which is also why she was a prime target for single guys. Disgusting.

And last and most certainly least, the girl in the center. The girl that led the fourth and fifth most popular girls in the school around like dogs on a leash. The most fake, snobby, desperate, two timing Barbie you will ever meet. Ashley Houston.

Oh how I would love to be Dorothy and drop a house on those witches.

"Heeeeey," Ashley said as she approached us, "Look what we have here. The school's most popular guy and a wannabe loser,"

"Oh, and I'm here too," I bit back.

"Oh-em-gee! You are? I totally didn't even notice, it's like you were invisible or something!" Ashley squealed.

"I'm not saying I hate you or anything, but... If you were hit by a bus, I'd be driving that bus!"

"Oh, finally a criminal act that would catch Daddy's attention," Ashley sneered.

I can usually take insults and fire them right back, but no one ever takes a shot at my dad.

"Or... It'll be a worldwide celebration that you're finally dead!"

"Whatever, Zobo. See you around," Ashley turned on her heel and strutted down the hallway with Olivia and Taylor following close behind.

The top five most popular girls list goes like this:
1. Me
2. Ava
3. Ashley
4. Olivia
5. Taylor

As the most popular and most talented, I am captain of the cheer squad. Which is also why Ashley hates me because she wanted that spot.

It's not my fault. Well, maybe it is, but hey, it's a win for me!

"Zobo, huh?" Crap, I forgot Ryan was still here!

"Don't even," I warned him.

"Isn't that a cross between a zebra and a yack," Ryan chuckled as I stormed away into the lunchroom. But Ryan, being taller, quickly matched pace with me.

"Darling, go buy me a lunch," Ryan ordered before taking a seat at his table. With no more strength to argue, I got into the lunch line.

Ava joined me and we were talking about how school should be banned and everything. She gave me a puzzled look when I paid for two trays, but I just shrugged and we walked to Ryan's table.

Ava took a seat next to Mark and I took the last open seat in between Mark and Ryan.

"Here," I said, sliding Ryan's tray to him. I didn't even get a thank you before Ryan starting digging into his lunch. I looked down at my tray and took a few spoonfuls of corn before I was interrupted again.

"Darling, get me some napkins!" Ryan commanded again. I sighed but got up anyway to get him some napkins.

I returned and placed them in front of him, and once again I didn't get a thanks. A couple more minutes passed until Ryan found something else to bug me about.

"Darling, you forgot my milk!" Ryan whined. I threw my hands up in the air before forcefully handing him my milk carton.

"Here, your highness," I said sarcastically. Ryan opened it and took a swig before leaning over to whisper in my ear,

"Thanks,"

I nodded my head before turning back to my lunch. Knowing I wasn't going to eat anymore, I got up, threw away my lunch, and walked out of the lunchroom to my place of serenity. The library.
