"When I was younger, my dad used to have lavish parties, he would have the richest of the rich come and celebrate whatever it was that he was celebrating. But uh, he started getting really drunk all the time and he and his friends would start hitting me, at first it was just rough pushes here and there but after a while, it got really bad. My mom was off traveling and Hongjoong went to an international school so I didn't really have anyone to help me. Every night I would come home to get abused and his friends tried to touch me until my mom finally came home one night and saw what was happening. We immediately moved and sued him for abuse. Anyway now every once in a while I'll still feel hands on me... sorry for waking you and ranting." Wooyoung sighs, finishing his story.
"Um, wow. For one thank you for trusting me and sharing that with me. I'm so sorry that you went through that. You're really kind and you know from trauma people go one of two ways. Either they go the crazy psychotic revenge path or they gather themselves and move on. I'm glad you chose to gather yourself and move on because we got to meet and you got to have a life and that to me, means everything... you know?" San stops and thinks about his next words very carefully. "I- uh- I'm autistic."
"Really!?" Sorry I didn't mean to sound so surprised I just never would've guessed." Wooyoung says.
"Yeah, mental disorders run in my family I guess. Anyway, my dad started helping me really early and I only have level 1 ASD so it really wasn't that bad." San starts. "That's why I have problems with eye contact and I don't drink. I don't respond great to high emotions either. My dad worked really hard on my social skills but I'm still pretty bad at social cues but uh yeah, that's what Yunho was talking about at the party... and the other day in the rain. I'm sorry for that by the way." Wooyoung shuffles around and lays his head in San's lap.
"My mom always said don't apologize for things you can't control. I never would've known you were autistic unless you told me and that's amazing progress. I'll try and be more sensitive towards you if you'd like, I tend to be kinda loud." Wooyoung giggles. San runs his hand through Wooyoung's hair slowly. "Oh wait are you touch sensitive? Oh my God I'm already failing at this." San chuckles.
"No my dad is really touchy so I got used to it pretty quickly, I would just say don't like, jump on me cause I might throw you off." They both laugh as the sun finally perches on the horizon, lighting up their surroundings.
"We should probably go back inside now, they're going to get suspicious if they wake up without us there." Wooyoung says as he gets up, extending his hand to San.
"Alright. Are you going to be ok?" San asks kindly.
"Yeah, don't worry about me. Thank you for trusting me San, it means a lot." Wooyoung gently squeezes San's hand and smiles at him.
"Of course. Let's go inside now!" San smiles and completely brightens the mood along with it. "Ooo we should make pancakes for breakfast!"
"Pancakes? No, we should make waffles." Wooyoung protests.
San rolls his eyes and his body follows as he turns away from the door to find a Wooyoung very close to him. "W-we don't even have a waffle maker..." San stutters as he looks down at his feet.
"Oh, am I too close to you? Sorry." Wooyoung smiles and steps back, not realizing how it helped and hurt San. "Is he never going to come near me again? At least he's being respectful... maybe too respectful."
"Oh, thanks." San opens the door and lets Wooyoung in first and follows after him, closing the door quietly. When they enter everyone is thankfully asleep. They both lie back down in bed and appreciate the entire encounter they just had.
"Should I start giving San more space? He might appreciate it, I am really clingy. Yeah i'll do that, he'll be happier anyways." Wooyoung thinks as a tear rolls down his cheek. "He's just my friend, why am I always so emotional when it comes to him, gosh..."
"I hope Wooyoung doesn't take this the wrong way... I really do enjoy his presence... but he's smarter than to think I don't want him around...right?" San shakes the thought away and tries to get in another hour or two of sleep.
