        {[Alyssa]}

"Aiden, we might not have a choice anymore. If we wait any longer, you'll have to send him off to some other family, to live as a mortal." I said, seriously.

Aiden shook his head, "I don't think-"

"No!" a voice yelled a voice. The maid that had almost attacked me the moment I got here, hurled herself at me, claws already transforming.

Without thinking, I threw up a shield, "Sciath"

The cougar that used to be the maid plowed into the barriar, but not before one of her claws found a weak spot. Her sharp, deadly claw managed to pass through and snag my cheek, scratching. I moved out of the way before she could do any damage and watched as servants tried to subdue her. But the girl fought, making it difficult for the servants to get close in their human forms.

I looked at Aiden, whose shoulders seemed to droop now, and he nodded.

"Maria," I whispered, catching everyone's attention. "I bind you from doing harm to others or yourself."

When the words were said, the cougar seemed to freeze in place; not moving, only blinking a breathing. Maria glared up at me, and I returned her stare.

I looked back at Aiden, "Tonight, Aiden. Now or never."

        "Now." he said, breathless.

Eamon stood behind all the ruckuss, staring jaw hanging open, and eyes wide. Once Maria was out of the room, I looked at the half set table.

One of the butlers, who wasn't so lucky with Maria, had a gash up his whole arm. Quickly, I grabbed his hand,

        "Magic mend and fire burn,

        Sickness end, good health return."

Before our eyes, the cut sealed itself up and the servant stared at me wide-eyed with a mix of curiosity and disgust. I felt my own shallow cut heal too.

Quickly, I dropped his arm and clapped my hands towards the table. "Table set!"

Plates and utensils appeared along with the meal that everyone was trying to prepare and much more.

"Eamon, we have a lot to talk about." Aiden said, recovering himself and sitting down at the head of the table.

I followed, sitting on the side of him.

Eamon chose the other side and was looking a bit pale. "Good God Almighty, is this house running around with deamons?"

"If deamons were here, this place wouldn't even be standing." I muttered into my wine glass. I sipped the sweet nectar.

Eamon chocked on his drink. "Pardon me?"

Aiden shot me a look and I complied.

"Son, I'm sorry for hiding this all from you... but you have to know that I only had your best interest in my mind." he said, trying to make him understand.

"Oh, having out house filled with Satan's minions is in my best interest?" Eamon scoffed.

I bit back my own laugh and just rolled my eyes.

"What's so funny, you little whore?" he snapped at me.

        {[Eamon]}

Anger flashed through her eyes and she set down her wine glass.

        "Eamon!" Father snapped.

"And what, Mr. Price, makes you suggest that I'm a whore?" she asked sweetly, eyes still flashing.

I was about to answer but she beat me to it.

"Was it because a certain sombody trifled with my belongings and found my Mother's ring, which could be mistaken for an engagement ring?"

My mouth came open in shock. How did she know?

"Because, I assure you, sir, that I know exactly who did it, and I don't appreciate the insult you have just graced upon me." Alyssa's voice had hardened into pure rage. She looked like she was ready to turn him into flames and I had no doubt that she wasn't capable from what I've seen so far.

"You went through her room?" Father asked angrily.

"Only because the little chit wouldn't tell me who she was." I growled.

She snorted, delicately. "Only a boy would do that to a woman's belongings."

"Oh, believe me, there wasn't much to riffle through."

Something like pain passed through her eyes. "There's a reason for that." she muttered. She pushed at her rare steak with her fork. Father and I liked it rare.

"We'll talk about that later, but the point being, you're different Eamon." Father said, clearing his throat.

        I stared at him blankly.

"Different as in a different race." Alyssa said, her voice back. "A whole different species."

She glanced at Father and he nodded, telling her to proceed.

"You have an animal inside you, just waiting to be released. Many people are like you with inner beasts. Those are called Shifters -your people. The people that your Father is the king of, the Overlord." she explained.

"Oh?" I said, amused. She should be put in an asylum.

She gave a patronizing look. "Don't give me that tone, Mr. Price. Everything that is being said tonight is all true."

"And why should I believe you, a guest that hasn't even been here for a day?"

"Just look at Maria. Is that not enough evidence?" she challenged.

I was brought up short. It was puzzling what had happened. All I knew was that his Father and Alyssa were in a private discussion when, all of a sudden, Maria tensed up. Then she growled and pounced after Alyssa, and before his eyes, she changed into a ravaged beast.

"I thought so." she said, sounding only a bit smug.

"Then what the hell are you? A witch?" he spat.

"Witchcraft runs through my veins just as Shifter blood runs through yours." she said, shrugging her delicate shoulders.

"If I am what you call a Shifter, then why haven't I changed into a bloody beast?" I said, flashing one of my killer smiles, because I knew I was a beast -at least, in bed.

"Yes... I've wondered that too." she says, speculatively.

We both looked over at Aiden.

"Well, before I've had a sorcerer, here and it helped mask his Shifter scent among us... and he became oblivious towards us and interacted with more humans rather than our kind." Father said, uneasily.

Alyssa's eyebrows shot skywards and looked at me with shock and pity. A look that I was starting to recognize on sight now.

"Anyway, it has been decided that you, Eamon, are to have your Ceremony tonight under the full moon." he went on.

        "What?" I said, not understanding.

"Tonight, you'll be a full fledged Shifter." Alyssa supplied in.
