Loui and I crept through the forest floor silently, trying to avoid the angry villagers and torches as much as possible. I had no choice but to leave Aiden and Eamon behind, for fear of me endangering them even more. I knew when I'd caused enough damage to leave a place behind.

Something delicate, shriveled inside me. For once in centuries, I felt at home and safe. A word I had never even thought that was possible for me to feel. And it was gone in an instant, just before I could fully grasp that I was home.

But I know Aiden's a big boy, he know's how to take care of situations like these, and this was just the time to do something that I've put off for a while. I took my satchel that I always carried with me, and pulled out my Spriggans Stone.

It was called a Spriggans Stone because the spriggans got magical enchanted stones from some unknown source. Spriggans are well known for their con-games and stealing, so it took a lot for me to get the darn rock. The good thing was that it found things at a long distance.

I know I should've done this years ago, but something just stopped me. I held the stone in my right hand and held my other hand over it in a dramatic gesture, saying:

"Guiding spirits, I ask your charity, lend me your focus and your clarity.

Lead me what I need to find restore that and my piece of mind. So shall it be!"

For a moment, I felt the spirit of a deceased Spriggan pass through me and into the stone. The feeling of an Unseelie fairy passing through, isn't a pleasant experience. The stone started glowing white, illuminating the dark forest. Loui barked softly beside me.

Shouts and torches started to quickly come towards me. Before they could even step in a twenty-five foot radius of me, I'd be gone. Running into the trees, following the white path before me at lightning speed, I out ran the mortals easily. Determination overtook the fear that welled up within me at what would happen when I found them.

{[Eamon]}

We chased Alyssa into the forest with the rest of the town, except for the opposite motives. Father and I had to make sure she was okay, that she wasn't harmed.

"She's very capable of handling herself out there." father had said. But I disagreed. Something inside me just told me that I had to be with her and not let her experience this alone.

"Alyssa has been through this before. This is nothing new to her." Kalen had reminded him.

For some reason, both of their reassurances had done nothing but irritated me. They just couldn't understand the animal instinct that screamed for me to go after her.

Now, slowing down to a mortal's pace and letting her get away and slip through my fingers. I was tempted to change into my leopard, but knew with my head that it wasn't smart. While in my heart, my inner beast screamed to go after her, drag her back, and make sure she's safe.

Kalen walked up next to me, in the all the rage and confusion of the townsfolk, they failed to notice the new face. "She's doing her own thing right now. I sense we should let her do it, and she'll come back to you soon enough."

"How would you know that." I snapped, irritated.

He shrugged. "Alyssa and I have known each other for centuries. I just know her that well."

That irritated me even more.

Father came up to us, seeing us glare at each other. "I think we should go home for now. The mortals have written it off as us just being a victim to Alyssa, so we won't be put on any trials. In the meantime, we'll just have to wait for Alyssa to see when it's safe enough to come back to us."

Furious that they would just let her leave like that, I spun around and ran ahead of them, not caring what people thought of, for once.

It had been a couple days since I left Massachusettss and I was driven away from Aiden and Eamon, and now Loui and I had finally reached a small town in Rhode Island, only a couple days from where the Price's lived.

My guard was instantly up, and I thought of some brief attack spells, just in case as I approached the small cabin. It looked deserted, but you never know, the Spriggans Stone never lies.

Carefully, I made my way inside, the door unlocked. It was well-lit, light streaming in from the windows, and for a minute, it looked like a regular home. Furniture well kept and everything nice and neat.

But something was wrong and Loui and I could feel it. Something smelled. It wasn't the pleasant smell of sunshine or plants like a regular home, it was the smell of death. Bad feelings in the pit of my stomach, I made my way through the sitting room, but stopped cold.

Nausea welled up, and my breakfast almost surfaced but I held it in. The sight before me was gruesome, the body of a little boy, no older than eight, probably, was left to die and rot on the floor. He had obviously died a while ago, flies gathered on the bloated black flesh. The way he died was not physically visible, but I had a feeling that magic was his downfall.

Tears welling up in my eyes, I hardly noticed when a set of hands slammed me into the wall, shattering a procelain plate. China cracked behind my back and I winced in pain as I slid to the floor.

I looked up at my attacker, unsurprised at who had been trying to get the Overlord's attention and killed the poor boy lying at my feet.

"Hello, mother." I said.

And.... BAM! There we go, I feel so proud of this chapter, cause it definitely builds suspension on what will happen :D hehe, so how do you guys feel? Here's the mysterious mother who left poor Alyssa to Overlord duties all those years ago... and worse... she's bad?!? Talk about mother-daughter reunion O_O Aaaand... what does Kalen know about Alyssa that Eamon doesn't?

OOH! And you'll probably notice that Eamon's feeling's towards Alyssa is changing... well, DUH they are! Cause I think Eamon's awesome( :) ) he should find and get what he wants... hehe maybe. Oh well.
