Franny's alarmed screamed at her to start her day. She rolled over and clicked the buttons on her phone to snooze the alarm. The valet liked to play a dangerous game when it came to snoozing her alarm but today she really couldn't miss work. Her supervisor had promised she would be out of job if she had one more slip up. The lazy young women got out of her bed and began her daily routine in the morning. Shaun had already messaged her that he was ready to go once she arrived at his apartment. They then would walk together to Katy's parents home.
Rushing to put her shoes on, Franny grabs her purse and basically bolts out the door to make sure that she wouldn't cause herself and her friends any consequences based on tardiness. She stopped at the small convenience store to pick up some coffee for the trio, and then proceeded to his apartment. Her shoes echoed off the sidewalk in the early morning of San Francisco, their was a light breeze and the sound of shop owners getting to open for the day.
She loved it here, her hometown was the only upside of her childhood. There were multiple places where she could escape to and keep her mind off her home life. These were places that she enjoyed on her own, but she introduced these places to Shaun. He loved them as much as she did because for him it too was an escape. They would point out changes in the environment, comment on the overall beauty. They would also tell each other their backgrounds and find common ground when it came to their adolescent years.
She gets to his door and uses her left foot to knock on his door. She can hear shuffling behind the door as Shaun seem to struggle to make his way over to open it. "I left it unlocked for you Franny.." Shaun say but quiets down as he looks at the smiling girl holding two coffee cups in her hand.
"Ah, I see you've beat me to the punch." Shaun says while Franny giggles. He moves to the side and lets her walk past him. When she enters the small apartment, the coffee aroma begins to hit her nose as she realizes Shaun had begun a brew for the both of them.
"Wow, I did beat you too it." Franny said as she made her way over to Shaun's coffee syrups. "I figured you would be tired since you sent that last text to me pretty late." Shaun commented. Franny picked out his favorite flavor and hers as well, adding a few pumps to the steaming beverage.
"Yeah I thought I could relax a little before going to bed. I was feeling a little tense after dinner last night."
"Why is that?' Shaun asks. The truth is Franny couldn't pinpoint an exact reason. She felt that part of it had to do with what Soo said about her potential, which was art. Franny was a fantastic artist and even a better writer. She wanted to go to school for both but felt discouraged when the school offered her nothing to help with paying for it. Hence, why she stuck with her valet job.
"I don't know, I guess I can't help and think about what I could be doing right now." She admits. "I wonder if I could've been an artist or even a writer for a magazine, or even the newspaper. Not that I don't love working with you and Katie, but sometimes I just wish I would've tried instead of just giving up." Shaun smiles at her.
"Franny, you can do whatever you put your mind to. I know that you can do it and I've seen your work. I think you'd be one hell of a writer and artist." Shaun says.
"I feel like you're saying that just because you have to as a friend and romantic partner." Franny jokes.
"Well maybe," Shaun jokes, "I'm kidding. You truly are one of the most talented people I've come across in my life." He then confesses. He places one hand onto hers and slightly caresses it. He leans over and Franny does as well, their lips meet and just as it seems it started it was over.
"Thanks Shaun, I really don't know where I'd be without you keeping me sane. Katy too but you're here right now." She says
"I'll always be here for you, you know that. Speaking of Katy, we should probably make our way to her place already. Otherwise, we're gonna be late for the bus." Franny agree and the two head out.
