They did all this in their lust to gain the "Ultimate Power" protected by a Goddess.
A Power she guarded without equal. A Power handle down by God's of old, this power gave the holder the means to make any desire into reality. Such was this might of the Ultimate power that the old ones placed it in the care of the Goddess.
In order to prevent this great Power from falling into the hands of the evil swarming the lands...
The Goddess gathered the remaining survivors on an outcropping of earth. She sent it Skyward, beyond the reach of the demonic horde, Beyond even the clouds.
But five knights were left behind in the surface with the Goddesses... one of them was The chosen knight of the Goddess... they fought along side her and with the Land dwellers against the forces of the Demon God, sealing them away.
At last, peace was restored back to the surface... but in the cost of the swordsmen and The chosen knight life...
