Shrek POV
I made little contact with Leon, his beautiful ocean eyes gazed into my dark, hazel eyes. The mood was about to be set when Marvin cut us both off, "Um...Hello? Aren't we in the middle of a crisis here?" He said. "O-oh! Sorry Marvin, got out o my head for a sec.." I said, stuttering. Leon just stood, saying nothing with an embarrassed expression on his face. He looked so cute with it, my heart was about to burst.
--TIMESKIP--
"Does anyone know what started this?" Leon asked.
"Not a clue." I answered. "But honestly, all you need to know is that this place will eat you alive if you aren't careful." Marvin added.
"Yeah...well, I was supposed to start last week and I got a call to stay away I wish I'd come here sooner." Leon said, loading his gun and putting it in his pocket.
"I'm sorry you got your shift at such a bad timing, Leon." I said sincerely.
"No worries, Shrek. It's not your fault." He replied.
"Well you're here now, Leon. And that's all that matters." Marvin stated.
"Okay, Lieutenant, I'm ready." Leon approached Marvin.
"Hopefully, you'll be able to find a way out of this mission." Marvin replied. "The officer you met earlier--Elliot. He thought this secret passageway might do the trick." He showed Leon the notebook. "This is good news. We can get you to a hospital." Leon said, with hope in his eyes. "Yeah Marvin, we could get you all patched up." I added, but he declined the offer, "No, no. I am not the priority here." He shook his head. Leon said, "Lieutenant, I'm not just gonna leave you here--" But he was cut off, "I'm giving you an order,rookie. You save yourself first." I stared in shock. I didn't expect Marvin to refuse such an offer. I continued to watch them talk. "Id come with you, but I'd just slow you down..You and Shrek are enough for me." He said, "Now,you'll need this." He handed him a baton. "I can't take--" Leon refused, but he was cut off again."Stop." He said, forcing Leon to take it. "And don't make my mistakes. If you see one of those things, uniform or not--you do not hesitate." He added. "You take it out, or you run. Got it?"
Leon nodded, "Yes, sir."
"And promise to protect Shrek, he still has bigger things in life to accomplish." He reminded Leon, and he nodded again.
Marvin sat on a chair to get some rest, panting.
