Biting back emotions that flowed through my body had become a daily routine. Yet, when I was alone, I was able to set them free. Everyone knew I felt but never spoke about it. It was like the dirty secret that wasn't so dirty. I felt like a fool constantly. All because of him. Because I was undeniably in love with Jack Harlow.
I had been Jack's best friend for years. We stayed close through everything, we always had each other to lean on when things got rough. Unfortunately, things began to change when he met his new girlfriend, Beth. She was this perky social butterfly who liked everyone but me. She had it out for me, and everyone but Jack knew. Apparently, he was falling head over heels in love with her, and sometimes it hurts to see that. To see someone you fell in love with fall for someone else. That wasn't even the heartbreaking part, it was watching that person slowly become a stranger. Jack didn't seem to need me anymore. He began leaving me out of almost everything, if Druski wasn't around then I'd be forgotten.
Druski knew of my feelings for Jack, it wasn't any secret to him. He knew how much it pained me, but he stayed out of it for my sake and the sake of his friendship with Jack.
At this point, I didn't care about losing Jack anymore. I had already lost him the moment he met Beth. Maybe it was jealously, and I just didn't care anymore.

I was with Druski in the studio as he oversaw Charlton's session. Which was The Kid LAROI's real name. Charlton and I met a few weeks ago, and we've been stuck together like glue. He asked me to come to the studio today, he was finishing up a few tracks on his album and he wanted a bit more support. I was happy to do so.
He was recording "F*CK YOU, GOODBYE" vocals, and I was vibing. Charlton wrote this after I had told him about Jack and I's situation. I threw out that he should have MGK on the track, and he instantly took the idea and ran with it. It was an amazing track.
He paused recording for a moment, looking through the glass at me.
"Come here, Y/N!" Charlton's thick Australian accent came through the system.
Druski sent me a smile as I entered the recording area. Charlton was showing me something he wanted me to try. It was lyrics a girl off Tik Tok wrote as a different version to "Stay" by him and Justin Bieber. Which was a girl's perspective of the song.
"At least try it, it's just us. No one else will hear it."
Charlton smiled at me, as he handed me the headphones.
I hesitated for a moment before hearing someone come into the studio. Seeing Jack come in with Beth stuck to his side, something in me pushed me to do it. I took the headphones as the guy pulled up the version of the song the girl used.
I let the music come through, as I focused my attention on the lyrics in front of me.
"You get drunk wake up, I'm by your side.
You say don't hold to what you said last night
I can't keep reading between your lines
And like a parasite, you kill my butterflies.
I was your diamond, you were the rough.
