Maxwell walked into the living room, rubbing his face tirelessly. The soft yellow glow from the exquisite chandelier that hung from the ceiling illuminated the bags under his eyes. He had just managed to land him self another homicide case when he had barely closed the last. And now, all he wanted to do was have a nice family dinner and hopefully, a week worth of sleep. But he couldn't, he told himself as he stared at the bleeding body in front of him. His partner-Luke, knelt beside the body, his hands covered in a glove. Luke shook his head, "She's dead."
Maxwell was so sure that it hadn't been too long, "I don't think the culprits have gone too far." He sprinted towards the landline and dialled security by the gate. He ordered a lockdown before driving through to the gate. There was a long line of cars, honking and people complaining. He grabbed a microphone and apologized, telling them how urgent it was.Maxwell flashed his badge when needed and checked the cars of the people. When he got to one, the three men it seemed to fidget.
"What's the problem, officer?" The driver asked. He had shaggy hair and equally unkempt beards. His cloth was barely even clean.
Maxwell scrunched his nose, there was even an awful smell lingering. He couldn't tell if it was cocaine or marijuana but, he was sure it was drugs.
"Get down, all of you." He stepped back, pulling his gun out and aiming at them, "Don't make me use force."
The security men saw this and opted to point their guns too.
The shaggy looking men got out of the car, their hands in the air.
"We didn't do anything." The one who had been in the passenger seat spoke up."I didn't say anything."Maxwell grunted, tired. He walked over to the booth and instructed them to open their car. There were random bags inside and Maxwell looked through them. Jeweleries, diamonds, cash and cocaine filled most bags. He stepped back.
"You are under arrest for breaking and entering, murder, robbery and illegal use of hard drugs. You have the right to remain silent."

"Well, that was our fastest case yet." Luke commented, patting Maxwell's back, "I owe you one."
They had finished filing the report and checking out. Maxwell just shook his head and grabbed his keys.
"I need food." He muttered. Luke laughed.
"You look like you need more than that. Chief gave us tomorrow off. Use it." Luke stated before walking away. Chief was their superior at work and he called the shots.
"See you next tomorrow then."
Luke mumbled a reply, hailing a cab. Maxwell got into his car and began to drive towards his Father's home.
He was really craving some fried rice.
As Maxwell got home he had dinner with his dad Mr Bill and his step mum Mrs Philip who was just married into the family 3 days ago.
Just as dinner was through they all retired to their rooms to get a good night sleep.
