The next day as Maxwell was in his office going through his files, Lieutenant Fred walked in,
"Its time Maxwell, we have to go now"
Maxwell stands up and rushes to his boss,
So they leave in Fred's car as they got to Alexander city.
Fred met his friend Lieutenant Robert as they search the area,the traffic vehicles,hotels,motels, even churches and mosques.
As time went on it was clear that they would not find any body, So Maxwell and Lieutenant Fred decided to go back, So lieutenant Fred spoke to his friend,
"Lieutenant Robert I will be on my way back, but if you find anything please call me"
"Okay no problem "
"Thank you"said Lieutenant Fred.
So detective Maxwell and lieutenant Fred got into Lieutenant Fred car, as Lieutenant Fred and Maxwell were on thier way back to thier police base.
Maxwell
"Sir what do you think about the whole issue"
"well I think that it would take some time, because thier is no particular location"
"Well I think so also,well let stop by that petrol station to refill the petrol"
As they got to the petrol station, Maxwell and Fred stepped down from the car, as the tank was being filled.
Maxwell heard his name,
"Maxwell Maxwell"
He turned and he saw his family friend Donald.
As Donald ran towards him, Maxwell began to regret why he did not continue weightlifting his friend looked superb, as Donald got to him even though maxwell was average height he still had to look up to Donald when addressing him.
"Maxwell how are you doing"
"Am great what of you"
"Am cool"
"So do you live here"
"No I came here to investigate on Ruths death"
"Am sorry about that,I heard of the news"
"But how is that connected to this place,she died in another place"
"well our police Technician was able to track a Doctor phone whom we suspect was a culprit in the crime here"
"well then where does the culprit live"
"We were not able to track him down to his house only to this city"
"Why"
"He recieved a call in this city but a very short call so we did not have enough time to track him to his house"
"Well please do all you can to track him and serve justice" Donald said in tears
"Don't cry, I can promise you I would get the killer down"
"thank you, but Ruth was my best friend She did not deserve death"
"I understand your pain"
"Well I would come to your house later so I can know what's going on in the investigation"
"No problem "
As Donald walked away sobbing.
Fred asked Maxwell
"Who is that"
"Well that's our very good family friend"
Before they could continue the conversation, they were interrupted by the receptionist in the station"excuse me sir tank is full"
They paid and continued thier journey as they got to the station it was already closing hours, "Maxwell why not get in let me drive you home"Fred offered
Smiling Maxwell said "that would be great "
So Fred dropped Maxwell, as Maxwell got home his dad had already slept off so he eat alone. Hoping tomorrow would be better.
The next day Maxwell was at his office,When his boss walked in to his office
"Maxwell"
"Sir"
"Thier is a new lead on the doctor."Fred said.
With wide eyes and a deep breath "What are the leads"Maxwell said
"Well when I came to work, John the head of the technical department said that the Doctor accessed the internet through the phone so they were able to track the phone,that they have been tracking the doctor phone along the route connecting the two cities, scince morning, that He has been moving to and fro scince morning"said Fred
Sinking back into his chair,looking deeply at no where in particular, Maxwell said
"Is it not strange that he would come back to this city only to go back continually since morning"
"I know nothing adds up,about the whole issue, But I have alerted the other police branch and they told us that they already tracked something similar, but have not been able to get anybody and they have been searching scince morning"
"So what should we do about it"
"I was thinking that we should go thier, but on a second thought, I thought that it was not be necessary since the other branch said they could not find him,and you know what happened yesterday how we went thier and thier was still no difference"
"But boss don't you think that we should go any ways"
"Maxwell no, I don't see it necessary"
"Ok boss"
"I just came to give you some updates on the case"
"Thank you sir"
As the working hours were almost over and officers were already leaving, Fredheard a knock on his door"
" come in" He said
Then Maxwell walked in"sir any updates"He said
"No thier is none, they could not find any one"
Ok sir thank you
As Maxwell walked back to the express He thought to him self
"What an irony that I have not been able to get mums killer,but have caught other people's killer in the past with ease"
Looking around him he thought to him self again "and the worst part is that the killer would be walking around freely, oww the world is an evil place".
Getting to the express, He flagged a cap down and getting in to the cap.
He leaned to the driver's ear from the back seat and said" zinc estate"almost like a whisper.
He leaned back to the his seat like a dying man,just as the driver speed of.
On getting home he walked in like briskly almost missing his steps most times,not even bothered to check on his dad, but just went straight to his bed room and fell straight face down on it and in no time slept off, not bothering to even eat as he just wanted to clear his head.
