(Jotaro) Babysitting

     Why did Jotaro think he could do this? It was only a few months that Jolyne's mother is going away on a business trip, why hire a nanny if he could do it just as well, right? Wrong. Turns out he didn't know a single thing about parenting. When Jolyne's mom dropped her off at his house before her flight with a doubtful "Its not too late for me to call a nanny you know.." but she was quickly shut down with a "I got this, woman." It turns out he does not got it.

     He had never been a parent in the way his ex-wife had been, but he wasn't necessarily a bad parent. He was just.. awkward around kids, not that he hated them just didn't quite understand them. He was quite the busy man and his job wasn't entirely kid friendly, well except for the fish tanks decorating his office she seemed to enjoy making faces that mocked the fishes'. 

     No matter how hard he tried he couldn't find anyone to watch so Jolyne so he had no choice but to bring her into work. Busy or not someone had to keep an eye on his daughter and it looks like it was him today. 

     With such a busy day he told her to stay put and color on a blank notebook he found in his desk. However children are widely known for their short attention span also for their knack of getting into all kinds of trouble. And that is exactly what Jolyne felt like doing today. 

     Jotaro was way too busy to notice when his daughter slipped out his office door to embark on who knows what. With such a big place there had to be lots of adventures to be taken, right? After a while she found a door just like any other door except for an abundance of stickers of whales, turtles, and any other sea animal you can think of. 'Marine Biotechnologist Dr. (l/n)' was stamped on the white plaque stuck to the door.

     Reaching up and grabbing the handle she opened the door into a big room with lots of tables, shelves lining the walls littered with jars, buckets filled with wires, and unfinished projects. You stood at your desk, fiddling lightly with a new project and looking at 3-D model of the project. 

     She silently walked to your side and tugged on your lab coat, effectively making you jump at the unexpected company. You looked down but it didn't quite solve your confusion, why is there a child in your lab? More importantly whose child was this? You put your tools down and crouched down to her level. 

     "Uh, hey there.. little miss. Whats your name?" You asked, trying to not freak out about this lost child in your lab, "My name is Jolyne, my daddy works here. I like your stickers." she answered still glancing around. "Oh thank you. So do you know what he's doing?" maybe you can get her back to wherever she came from, "Work." she stated while putting her hands on the table in attempt to see what's on top. "Dumb question (y/n) she's a kid she's not gonna understand what her dad does. She's probably like 4 or something." you scolded yourself mentally.

     "Ok uhh," you stalled "so who's your daddy?" she just looked at you "His name is Daddy." Again, stupid question (y/n). "Ok well how about we go for a walk, huh?" you improvised, "Ok" She grabbed your hand as you stood up and you couldn't help but internally squeal.

     You lead her out of the lab and into the hallway "Jolyne do you remember which way you came from?" you asked hopefully and she paused while looking around and slowly dropping your hand. 

     Suddenly, she dropped to the ground and started loudly sobbing, "I don't know where I am!" You started panicking, "A-ah! Oh no please don't cry Jolyne." Your pleas were easily ignored by the sobbing child and she leaned against your leg and clung on as tight as possible. "I want my daddy! Where is he? I want him!" she cried.

     "Don't worry Jolyne we'll go find your dad right now! Ok? So please stop crying" you bargained half trying to calm her down half panicking. You scooped her up in your arms and began walking to the front office. Once you arrived you had to come up with a way to explain your situation.
