"I love you ma" was the last words I told my mother as I kissed her on her cheek and wiped her tear falling from her cheek. I would miss her but I'm doing this for us. So that we can have a better life.
This was it right. The big land of opportunities. I was going into a completely new place, a whole new country with no idea what to expect. My thoughts were intruded by the pilot announcing that we were ready for take off. I reclined my seat and put my earphones in my ear. Listening to my Jhene Aiko playlist I managed to fall asleep.
When I woke up we were in the Barbados airport where passengers going to America needed to await the second flight. I had a 24 hours wait so I booked a motel before leaving Trinidad. After I came off the plane I decided to get a drink at a bar that was not to far from my motel, which was walking distance from the airport. Even though Barbados was also a Caribbean country, the atmosphere felt different. I could smell that I wasn't home. If that makes sense. I walked into the bar and went straight to the bartender.
"Can I have a tequila shot please?" I asked the bartender who was wearing a shirt that exposed all of his muscles. He was Foinnee as hell. He nodded and proceeded to pour my tequila and he handed me a wedge of lime and salt. I took the first shot and I felt as though I could have atleast 10 more. LOL. Three shots & 2 hours later I was asking the bartender for his number which I got of course. I was feeling happy and free... Something I didn't feel in a long time. I took one more shot and slammed the shot glass on the counter.
"I feel like dancing... Uh what's your name?" Seriously I asked the guy for his number and didn't ask his name.
"It's James" he replied with a grin exposing his beautiful white teeth.
"Yeah James I wanna dance, dance with me."
"I can't I'm working" he said with a frown.
"Oh well I'll dance by myself" I got off the stool and started "Whining" which is pronounced as "Wine-ing" it's the Caribbean term for grinding and twerking or whatever Americans call it 😭. I could feel his eyes on me as I moved my waist.
I am 5'4 with a slim waist and not too big but not too small booty. I am a caramel complexion with brown eyes and long curly hair. I would consider myself a beautiful female and I'm all about confidence. As I lifted my hands in the air I exposed my navel piercing which moved in all the directions my hips did as I continued to grab my preys attention.
"Sure you don't wanna dance with me?"
"I guess it won't hurt since I'm not as busy" He came out from behind the counter and grabbed my waist and started grinding his "Wood" on me Haha. But don't expect this to go anywhere because I'm just a flirt. I gave him three minutes and then I told him it was time for me to go.
"My shift is almost over can't you stay a little longer ?" He pleaded. "Nopes I have a flight to catch early in the morning" I winked at him and proceeded to the door."I'll Whatsapp you though Jamesss"
I plopped down on my motel bed and wondered into Dreamland. That next morning I woke up with a hangover. I always drink tequila even though I know that it does that to me. With little time to catch my plane, I take a quick shower and throw on a loose fitted dress, no bra and a diamond embezzled sandals ( NOT REAL DIAMONDS LOL). I hold my hair in a high pony and put on a pair of shades to hide my hangover look.
As I rush through the airports doors I realized I was just on time and quickly proceeded to get my information checked out and board the plane. This was it, my last step to take before I reached my destination. I looked through the window as the plane took off and after a while all I saw was clouds and ocean. It was beautiful and at that moment I came to reality, it all hit me... I was leaving my family behind, people that love me, the only life I knew.. I needed all the luck I could get.
