BEFORE YOU READ, THIS CHAPTER IS BORING FOR THE FIRST 5 PARAGRAPHS. IT DESCRIBES HOW I GET READY IN THE MORNING FOR SCHOOL (BORING). SO IF YOU WANT, SKIP THE FIRST 5 PARAGRAPHS AND MOVE ON. :)

I awoke at six the next morning to the sound of Bleeding Out by Imagine Dragons playing loudly on my clock radio. I groaned and rolled over, which had me laying on my back. I looked out the window, seeing the sky was still dark, the moon out. Standing up, I rubbed my eyes, yawning widely. I turned on my light, then walked ove to my standing closet covered in things I drew, and pulled open one of the doors. After staring at my shirts for a moment, I chose my yellow Hollister shirt. I then walked over to my dresser, grabbed underwear, socks, and my favorite red pants. Finally, I chose my jewelry for the day. Gold hoops with chains hanging down, and studs in the shape of colorful popsicles. Sometimes, I hated going to school. Today was one of those days - it's Monday.

I walked out to the kitchen and bid good morning to my parents. When my mom wasn't looking, I grabbed her coffee mug and took a drink, causing me to screw up my face in disgust - there wasn't any sugar. Before she saw me, I set the cup back down, and quickly walked to the bathroom where I began to get ready for school.

After getting dressed quickly, I stood in front of the mirror, brushing my teeth. When that was done, I turned around and opened the closet doors, grabbing my hair straightener. That took twenty minutes, so when itwas dfone, I put in a bit of hairspray to tame my frizz. I then opened the mirror cabinet, and grabbed my deoderant and Justin Bieber's Someday perfume. I put that on, put it back in its place, and finally started on my makeup, which usually took about five minutes.

I grabbed my zebra print makeup bag and pulled out everything I would need: foundation, eyeliner, two types of mascara and an eyelash curler. I added the foudation, then carefully curled my eyelashes, I added the mascara next. Finally, I applied some Ebony Black  eyeline onto my two top eyelids.

When it was all done, I went out to the kitchen, and waited for the bus. When I saw it pull up outside, I quickly threw on my jacket, and boots, grabbed my bag, and ran out to the waiting bus.

When I finally got to school, it felt like paparrazi hounding a celebrity. There were at least twenty to thirty people standing around the doors, and that was about a fourth of how many kids there were in school. I was raided with questions like "Where have you been?" and "What happened to you?" and the biggest one, "Everybody thought you died!" After quickly getting away, I made it safely to my locker where I was greeted by my friends Serena and Trisha.

"Abbie, what happened to you?!" Serena and Trisha both yelled in unison. I felt my face, hair, and looked down at my clothes. Nothing felt or looked wrong.

"What are you guys talking about?" My face was screwed up in confusion.

"You haven't been at school in a week!" Serena told me, like it was obvious.

"We haven't heard anything from you!" Trisha added on, her hands placed on her hips.

I rolled my eyes, then looking at both of them in turn. I said, in an odd distant voice, "I'll tell you guys at lunch..." I looked around. A lot of people were staring at me.

Just then, somebody bumped into me, knocking me to the ground, my backpack falling off my shoulder. Someone - the person who bumped me - wore a black hoodie. Their head was down, the hood up, hands in their pockets. They looked over their shoulder for a quick glance at me then immediately averted their eyes, but not before I got a good look at them. I couldn't believe my eyes. It was Mariah!
