Chapter 6: Once She Calmed Down

~Riley's POV~

I feel better now. I got to sit by myself and think. I got up and walked into the ballroom. Everyone turned to me. Great, just great. That girl came over to me. Ugh, what does she want?

Missy: Hey, how are you? I was so worried when you ran off like you did.

Riley: Thanks..

Missy: So, stay away from the Prince. Or else...He's mine, he'd never be interested in a girl like you. So I'd suggest going back to Loser Park. You're not gaining anything from being here. Go home peasant.

And with that she shoved me onto the floor. Making me fall on the ground. There was a loud thud. And everything went fuzzy. I got up and ran to the stairs. I have to get out of here. She's right. I'm not gaining anything but depression and self hate from being here. Someone was runnwhy ing up behind me.  

Lucas: Miss! Miss!! Please come back! Wait...I need to talk to you!...

I stopped running and turned around. Prince Lucas. I curtsie as he comes up to me.

Lucas: What's your name? 

Riley: Riley Ariana Matthews, your highness.

Lucas: Would you care to dance, Riley Ariana Matthews?

Riley: I guess so.

I walk over to him and he puts one hand around my waist and uses the other to dry my cheeks. He just looks at me...As if he's studying my face.

Lucas: I can't seem to understand why someone so beautiful would do something so...awful to themselves.

Riley: I don't want your pity Prince Lucas. If you're just gonna judge me, please I'd rather go home and be a lowly ugly peasant girl alone.

Lucas: I don't pity anyone as beautiful as you, nor do I judge you. I just want to know why you would do that to yourself. Even if you are a peasant girl, you are surely not lowly or ugly.

He slowly leaned in and kissed me. I felt fireworks. But someone pulled us apart. Someone asked us something. But my eyes were still closed, and my ears felt plugged.

~Lucas' POV~

I kissed Riley, I felt sparks, and it felt like we were the only two people on Earth. Until someone pulled us apart. Missy.

Missy: Hey, can I talk to you for a moment.'-she said looking at Riley.

Riley: No thank you, I'm busy.

Missy: It's very important...

Lucas: Really, it's alright, Riley, I can wait. Go with Missy.

Riley: Ok then, see you soon.

I walked away with Missy, she took me to a closet. 

Missy: I told you to stay away from him...

Riley: Listen, Missy, I was trying to leave. He asked me to dance, and he kissed me. 

Missy: I told you to stay away from him. Now you're gonna find out the or else part. 

She slapped me in the face, she tried to spit on my shoes but I moved out of the way...with that I opened the door and ran out of the closet to go find Prince Lucas...

Riley: Prince Lucas!!!! Prince Lucas!!!

~Lucas's POV~

I was waiting for Riley when I heard her calling my name. She was running towards me...

Riley: Prince Lucas!!! Prince Lucas!!

Lucas: What's up Riley?

Riley: Missy! She's crazy, she threatened me! Please help...

She said hugging me, burying her head in my shoulder...then the guy she came with came up to us.

Josh: Riley what's wrong?

Riley: That awful Missy girl...

Maya: ...Riley, is it? Can you and Joshua give Lucas and I a minute to talk things over? Thank you.

~Maya's POV~

I see that Riley girl run up to Lucas and hugged him. I guess that's Josh's neice, 'cause he ran to her super fast. Lucas and that girl are pretty close already. I REALLY like Joshua. He's cute, nice, funny, and smart. I think Lucas and I 've made up our minds...

Lucas: Hey what's up?

Maya: Do you know who you want as your Queen?

Lucas: I think I do...why?

Maya: I have too...

Lucas: I choose Riley Matthews.

Maya: I choose Joshua Matthews.

Lucas: Let's go tell everyone the news.
