Chapter 13: The Birth

-Time Lapse-

~Riley's POV~

I'm nine months pregnant. The baby should be coming any day now...I couldn't be more excited. I'm thinking about naming the baby—if it's a girl—Rowan Quinn Friar. If it's a boy I wanna name him Mason Carter Friar. I hope he/she comes out healthy...but right now, I'm laying with Lucas in our bed. Maya is seven months pregnant though. We both got nurseries for our babies. Mine has gray walls, black furniture, and blue linens(changing sheets on the changing table, crib sheets). Maya's nursery is pastel red, with white furniture and black linens.

Lucas: Hey babe, what're you doing up so early?

Riley: Hey. I woke up 'cause the baby was kicking me and it kinda hurt...it woke me up, so now we're here.

Lucas: He/she is developed enough for birth, we can induce labor babe...

Riley: I know...I just think I'll miss the feeling of being pregnant, of having them kick my stomach.

Lucas: Alright, whatever you say, Riles. I just hope they come soon...

~Lucas' POV~

I don't know why she doesn't want to have the babies already...I want them to be here. I want to name a girl Alexia Rowan Friar. I want to name a boy Peyton Alexander Friar. I love Riley...I just want us to be a complete family already...

My thoughts were interrupted by a knock at the door...

I went to open it and there stood a nurse.

Nurse: Mr. Friar, it's you're father...he's sick. You need to come see him immediately...

Lucas: Of course, is what he has contagious?

Nurse: No...you won't get it by being near him.

Lucas: Good, Riley you can come too. I want you there...

Riley: OK. I guess I'll go.

Then we left in our pajamas.

When we got there it was just my father in the room.

Lucas: Hey Dad...how're you feeling?

King: Not great son...I'm dying. They say I'll be dead by morning...

Then I hear crying I look behind me and I see Maya standing there in Joshua's arms...I look at Riley and she's crying with her hand over her mouth...

Lucas: I'm sorry Dad. We love you.

King: I love you too, son. Maya, dear come here...Riley, you too.

They both walk over to him.

King: I know I won't be able to see my grandchildren. But I can say my hello's and goodbye's now...

Riley: OWW!!

Then she fell to the ground.

Lucas, & Josh: Riley!!

Lucas: I think she's unconscious! Riley! Riley, can you here me? Babe?

She just lay there on the floor, holding her stomach...

Riley: Ow...Lucas the baby. Get it out! It hurts...babe help me...

Lucas: I will Riley...I promise, I'll help make the pain go away.

I just cradled her in my arms and sat with her in my lap on the floor...

Lucas: Josh, Maya!!! Go get help! What the hell is wrong with you two??

Then they ran out into the halls screaming:

Josh & Maya: NURSES!!! DOCTORS! HELP, HELP! SOMETHING'S WRONG WITH PRINCESS RILEY! SOMETHING'S WRONG WITH THE BABY! COME QUICK TO THE HOSPITAL ROOM!

Riley: Lucas...it hurts. OW! Lucas! It feels like he/she's trying to tear through my stomach...OW! Lucas, I think my water just broke...

Lucas: NURSE! DOCTOR!! SOMEONE HELP! PRINCESS RILEY'S WATER BROKE! THE BABIES ARE COMING!!

Riley: Lucas get me onto one of the beds...OW..(looking at her stomach) GET OUT DAMN YOU!(looking at Lucas) YOU DID THIS TO ME!!

Lucas: I-I'm sorry, Riles...I'm so sorry...

Then the nurse walked in...

Nurse: OK, Riley. How far apart are the contractions?

Riley: I really don't know lady. Kinda paralyzed in pain! OWW!!

She screamed squeezing my hand...then she went unconscious...

~Riley's POV~

I woke up a few minutes later.

Riley: Lucas...?

Lucas: Riley! Babe, OK...the babies are ready to be birthed...you have to start pushing, OK?

Riley: Lucas, Lucas! Sit with me!

I started pushing...it hurt so bad. I could've sworn I was pushing a bowling ball out of my vagina.

Riley: LUCASSSS! AHHHHH...

I felt I was squeezing his hand really hard...but hey, he had to go through a little pain if I had to go through this.

Lucas: You got this Riley...the baby's almost out.

Nurse: Here's the head. Just a couple more, you can do this!

Riley: AHHHH!!!

Nurse: OK, OK. Stop pushing, Riley. Congratulations on a baby boy...

Riley: YAY! OWWW! What the hell! I thought you said I was done?! It still FRICKIN' HURTS!!

Nurse: There's another twin still...you didn't know?

Riley: NO! I want another baby, but DAMMIT!!

Lucas: They're twins??

He says smiling like a clown...

Nurse: OK, Riley. It's time for you to start pushing again...

Riley: OK, OK. AHHHHHHHH!!!!

Nurse: Good!! Good! Alright here's the head. Out come the shoulders...one more BIG push OK?

Riley: OKKKK! AHHH! OWW!

Nurse: Ok Riley, Lucas. Congratulations on a new baby girl...

Lucas: A boy and a girl? That's great news...

He looks at me. All I can do is cry...I would do this again...but I would never trade this experience for the world...

Riley: Please, clean them up...I'd like to hold them. I want the King to meet them. Lucas can you get the camera really fast? I want you to take pic-

And then everything went black...
