Rucas/Joshaya a love story

Chapter 7: The Announcement

~Josh's POV~

I see her as she walks up to the podium with Prince Lucas. She looks so beautiful in her dress. But when doesn't she look beautiful? When they are together at the podium, they began to speak:

Maya: We would like to thank you all for coming to this ball. As you all know we're choosing spouses for ourselves. But there will only be one boy and one girl.

Lucas: So, without further ado, Maya who do you choose?...

Maya: I choose Joshua Matthews. For being respectful, honorable, kind, loving, funny, smart, and really quirky. Thank you, to all the other men here tonight, but I've made my choice.

I then see Maya curtsie, and she begins to ask a question...

~Riley's POV~

Awww, Princess Maya chose Josh. I'm so happy for him. He reallly likes her, she is really pretty. But now they can live happily ever after in this lovely kingdom. I ho--

My thoughts were interrupted by Maya asking a question:

Maya: Lucas who do you choose?

At that moment Missy started running to the podium. She got to where they were standing, and grabbed Prince Lucas' arm,  and my heart was again bro--

Missy: Thank you ladies. But he's made his choice. The only right choice. I'm perfect for him. And everyone can see it.

As soon as I heard that my heart shattered into a million little tiny pie--

Again my thoughts were interrupted.

Lucas: No no no no no....No. I do not choose Missy. She is self-centered, cocky, selfish, snobby, and not nearly as pretty on the inside as she is on the outside. I choose the girl that has Queen qualities. She is even more beautiful on the inside than she is out. She is beautiful, and kind...she stands up for herself, and isn't afraid to ask for help. I love this girl, and I want her to be my Queen.

It felt like my heart stopped. I couldn't breathe...and then I heard it:

Lucas: Riley Ariana Matthews. You are my choice for my Queen.

I swear every girl in the entire room gasped when he said my name. I just sat there smiling, as everyone cleared pathes so Prince Lucas could get to me and Princess Maya could get to Josh. I just stood there, I feel like I can't move. Then I see Missy coming up behind Lucas, and move fast as lightning to get infront of her.

Riley: What do you want, Missy?

Missy: I want what's rightfully mine...the crown. I should be the next wife of Prince Lucas, I should be Queen with Princess Maya. Not you, you are the filth of the Earth! You don't belong in a beautiful castle like this.

Riley: That was the Prince's choice. And he chose me. Not you, so suck it up. I would like to enjoy the rest of the ball. But I will have you escorted OUT by palace guards if you continue like this.

Right then, Lucas pulled me in, and kissed me....it was magical. And I couldn't have been happier than when Missy stomped off crying after seeing the love.

Lucas: Please don't let people like that get to you anymore...you have to promise me...that you won't hurt yourself because of your pain. Or the pain placed on you by others. You have me now. I don't know how you feel about me, but I know I love you. And it is because I love you that I ask you to be kind. All those that were mean to you, get to watch you have a fabulous life...

Riley: I love you too, Prince Lucas.

Lucas: You can call me Lucas. You are gonna be my wife within a year.

Riley: Ok then, Lucas...wait only a year! I have to start planning! This is going to be my only wedding it has to be perfect!

Lucas: I love your enthusiasm for life.

And then he leaned in and kissed me. It felt like it lasted a life time...

~Maya's POV~

I went up to Josh, and he ran to me, grabbed me by the waist, pulled me in and kissed me. I've never felt anything like this before. If this is love I hope it never ends...

I'm gonna rule happily ever after with my new family.

~Lucas' POV~

I've got her...I got the perfect girl. She's a beautiful girl with a beautiful name...Riley Ariana Matthews...I love this girl.

Lucas: So how do you know that guy you came with? Is he your brother?

Riley: No, no not my brother. I think I'd die with him as my brother...He's my Uncle.

Lucas: Ohhhhh. Does he live with you? Because tonight you two are going to stay here with Maya and myself.

Riley: But we didn't bring anything other than what we're wearing...

Lucas: You can wear something of Maya's and Josh can wear something of mine...

She jumped on me and hugged me....I hugged her back....

Riley: Thank you, Lucas...thank you so much.
