Pete shook me awake in the morning, today was one of the few days Pete would drive me to school. I took a shower, got dressed, grabbed my backpack, raced down the stairs, grabbed a protein bar, said bye to my parents, and then I was off. Pete and I started singing to the radio so loud that people in the other cars gave us weird looks. When we got to school I jumped out of the car and Pete drove away, to his high school.

School went by fast. Lacey and I had all our classes together. We had an awesome art teacher who had pencils, paint brushes, and pens stuck into her updo. She wore a ton of tye-dye. Her name was what made Lacey and i really love her, Ms. Flabberdandy. She was so nice and i instantly knew she was the best teacher ever.
laceys parents picked her up right at three so I had to wait for Pete. i waited untill five and he did not come. I waited untill six Pete or my parents did not show up. i felt in my backpack, thank goodness i had remembered my key. I walked home. when I got there, there was a note on the door. It read:
brooke,
go to grandmas house we will pick you up at midnoght there.
love
mom and dad

There were tear drops on the paper. what had happened? All I knew is that grandma might be able to tell me. i walked for twenty minutesand finally got there. I knocked on the door grandma opened the door. she had been worried i could tell. she gave me a huge hug and then let me inside. We sat down and we waited. I asked if she knew what had happened she said no.
