Life- part 3

             I did not know what had happened. All I knew was that I had fallen asleep at Grandmas. She told me my parents had called at 1:30 am and said that I would miss school. I texted Lacey: can not come to school. Do not ask me why I do not know. i will tell you when i find out. Do not worry, I will be fine. <3 Brooke.

          Lacey texted me a million times asking what was wrong. I could not answer. I asked Grandma a million times what was going on, but she did not know either. At 3:30 pm my mom called. She had been crying. I asked her what had happened and she said that Pete had been arrested for shoplifting. I was shocked Pete had never done anything even close to bad. He was a straight A student. He was an honor student. I asked mom what he had taken and she said: lotion and 5 CDs. I dont know how he fit it all in his pocket? Suddenly I realized that he had a backpack. She said that she would pick me up in 20 minutes. She hung up.

          I had to talk to Pete. I callled him. No answer. I got a text from Pete: got bailed with nothing on my permanent record.

          Yes Pete was okay. Or was out of jail. I would never tell any one not even Lacey. I would act as if nothing had happened. I would never ask why he took thoose things. He would drive me to school on my birthday as usual, eat chicken noodle soup for breakfast as usual, and would keep up his straight A's. Life would be normal.
