That is what I thought, but no. When I got home Mom was banging her fingers on the keys of a calculator. She kept muttering: it will be alright Karen. Pete will be fine. She only went by Karen at work the rest of the time her name was Kare or Mom. She even had these weird papers on the counter. On top of the stack of papers was a paper with two words written across the top that read: Teen Rehab. Pete would never go.  I asked mom about the paper and she said the cops had  given to her and that she did not plan on sending Pete. She said she had signed him up for guidance counseling. She said that the whole family would go.

I began to cry. I do not know why but tears started gushing out of my eyes. Mom led me to the couch. She told me that our whole schedule would revolve around family time to help Pete with his "situation". I asked of i was still aloud to go to my friends houses. She said of course. She tried to make me feel better. But, she knew i would never be all right.

Lacey was worried on Monday. I told her that my family was playing a trick on me. She said it was funny, but mean. She wanted to come over after school, but I told her we were busy, That was true. We had family counciling tonight. I went and listened. She told me I did not have to come any more. I thanked her and we all left.
