LAI // I lived my whole life in Lafayette. My mother is a drug addict, my brothers was killed in a drive by down in Baton Rouge, and my father is a dope seller.

I lived in a abusive household. My father would come home doped up and get mad at my mother because she would spend all his block money on crack. They would argue and they he would beat on her.

He almost beat my mom into a coma once. When my mother was in the hospital because of him, he would come home doped up and since my mother wasn't around for him to take his anger out on...he chose me.

I could be washing dishes, and he would come home and start yelling at me. We would argue and then it will lead to him slapping me, pushing me to the ground, stepping on my stomach, punching me and all sorts of stuff.

My brothers came home one day to him beating on me, it didn't end well. They had pushed him off and started beating on him, while I was laying in blood, with a busted lip, and a black eye.

One time it got so bad that he fractured two of my ribs and broke one of my legs and had me hospitalized for almost a year.

I got tired of it. I found Mani and we became best friends. I moved out my father house after my brothers was killed in a drive by.
