And that was that.

It was only a mere seven hours later and I was beginning my final descent to LAX. I vaguely remembered calling the airline, driving to the airport and I only remember conscouisly packing two things. One of which was swaddled over my tired body, a grey 'Ed Sheeran' hoodie Harry had picked up at one of Ed's concerts. The other, currently covering my swollen red eyes while I feigned sleep, was a black pair of Ray Bans Harry had left behind on his last visit.

I had my earphones in, but I was not paying attention to what was playing. My mind kept replaying the events that had happened earlier. My mind swirled with whether I was making the right decision by dropping everything to rush to L.A against Pauls better judgement.

Of course you are making the right decision stupid. I thought to myself.

My mind wondered back to my panicked phone call to my mom, I told her I had to get to L.A tonight. I left out most details, and her response was "just call me when you get there." My mom had learned to except my spontaneous behavior, the last time I had up and left was when I told her I had to go to London. I didn't know what I would find there, but things worked out pretty well...

The plane hit some mild turbulance and I was jolted upward. No longer able to keep up my sleeping sharade, I removed the glasses and was met by the curious eyes of a few young teens who reconized me a couple rows ahead. They quickly turned away and began chattering excitedly amongst themselves.

Being reconized like that was something I still wasn't used to, to be honest it was something I probably never would get used to. But, at this moment I didn't want to be seen. I wanted to sink back into the dizzying pattern of the upholstered plane chairs and disappear.

Just keep it together for a few more hours. You can do this. I thought as I put my glasses back on and hugged my hoodie closer to me.

                                                                                        * * *

I had exited the plane and made my way to baggage claim, in record time, and I now was dragging my tired feet through the arrivals gate.

I scanned the small cluster of people for a familiar face, and then I saw him. He was standing off to the side next to the floor-to-ceiling glass windows, a few oggling girls were milling about him. He wore a baggy pair of grey joggers, a navy t-shirt adorned his upper-half and a faded demin jacket completed the outfit. The fur collar was popped up around his neck and his light brown fringe was peeking out from under a dark grey beanie.

He waved the girls away whole-heartedly as he noticed my approach. A consolidating grin spread across his face and I couldn't take it anymore. I closed the gap between us in a few short strides, and flung my arms around him. I burried my face into the crook of  his neck as he soothingly patted my back. Tears were burning my eyes as I silently sobbed into his shoulder.

"Shhh." He murmured, still rubbing my back in small circles.

I pulled myself together, wiping away a few of the tears that had managed to escape. I stood back and tried to smile to avoid suspicion from the onlookers watching our strange reunion. He held me at arms length and took in my appearance.

"You look.... awful." He stated with a laugh.

"Oh shut up." I said a true smile lighting up my face. In an instant a seriousness fell over me, I had so many questions, I needed answers. "Has there been any leads? What's happening? I've been going cra-"

"Shh babe. Not here." His head dipped down and his eyes fluttered around making sure nobody was listening. "Come on this way." He threw an arm around my shoulder and led me towards a small coffee shop.

A few minutes later a steaming cup of hot coffee was placed before me. My hands greatfully wrapped around the warm cup as I took a sip. I looked up to see Louis watching me, as if I could break again at any second.

"I'm ok now." I said reading his mind.

He let out a breathe and shook his head chuckling to himself. Suddenly, I remembered a question burning in the back of my mind.

"Lou," I started. "How did you get away from Paul? Didn't he wonder where you were going?"

He placed his elbows on the table and leaned forward. "Pauls been a little preoccupied for the last few hours. And for now he thinks I am here to pick up Eleanor."

"Is she still coming?" I knew she was supposed to be making a quick visit, Harry had told me earlier that week.

I loved El, she and I had become quite close in the last few months. We were both thrown into somewhat of a crazy life style, and we ended up spending a lot of time togther.

"Yes she is." He smiled to himself. "Paul wants to keep things as normal and as on schedule as possible. He doesn't want the public to sense something is wrong. Which will be my exact arguement when he sees you."

                                                                                * * *

An hour later, after another tearful greeting, the three of us were piling into a black escalade with tinted windows. The door closed taking the late morning light with it. I sighed and let my head fall sideways onto Eleanors shoulder. She gave me a sympathetic look and began soothingly stroking my hair.

My eyes drooped, it had been nearly 48 hours since I had last slept. The stress of the last day melted away as the hum of the engine lulled me into a dreamfilled slumber...
