[chapter eight - god rest ye merry gentlemen. edited.]
"You will write, won't you?" Blaise asked as they walked Raven and Cassius towards the carriages. Other students of different years were getting in with their trunks while their friends waved them off. Marco and Cassius split up from them to go find an empty carriage so they could load their things onto it.
"No," Raven replied. When Blaise gave her a look, she smiled. "Yeah, yeah, I'll write."
"Hey, what gives you the right to go home for the holidays anyway?" Pansy asked jokingly.
"I just don't want to be here when Granger uses Polyjuice Potion," said Raven. "You all know what to do when it happens, right?"
"Mhm." All of them nodded in sync.
"I guarantee that you'll only be interrogated by two people instead of three. Granger didn't get any of my hair, just the cat hair. And I'm pretty sure Harry and the redhead will be taking Crabbe and Goyle's hair."
"How do you just know that?" Draco asked.
"Because I'm a Slytherin," Raven said. "And remember to ask them if they want coffee and cream—and remember—!"
"Regular or vanilla," they all chorused.
"And what's the real answer?"
"Hazelnut."
Raven smiled at them. "Good job. And answer them honestly when they ask questions. We don't have anything to hide—right, Malfoy?"
"Wha—Why are you looking at me?"
"Um, I don't know, maybe it's because your dad's Lucius Malfoy?"
"What does that mean!?"
"We're ready, Raven," said Cassius. He was standing on the carriage step with his head peeking out from the side of the door. With his free hand, he waved at them. "See you guys later!"
"Bye, Cassius!" They all said, walking over to him, leaving Raven with Theodore.
"Be careful," the two said in unison. Theodore raised an eyebrow while Raven widened her eyes. "Why are you saying that to me?"
"You go first," Raven said quickly.
"Be careful. It's... dangerous out there."
"What, the real world?" Raven chuckled. "I think I can handle it... But you. Be careful here. Be careful around the Golden Trio, and especially Granger. Ever since... Colin... and... You know what, it's not important. But... just stay safe."
He nodded and Raven gave him a fond look. "What?"
"Nothing, nothing," Raven said as she shook her head. "You're just something else, Mr. Nott. Anyways, take care."
"You too."
Raven waved at him and began walking to the carriage that was still surrounded by the others. They parted for her to get through, but when she passed by Pansy, they all jumped her, hugging and patting (more like punching really).
"Have a good Christmas!"
"Don't go kissing people under mistletoes! Fight them instead!"
"Mistlefoes!"
"For once, Blaise, that name doesn't suck."
"Ow, ow, ow! Oi, Pansy, don't punch me there!" Raven grabbed onto the door handle and hoisted herself up. She sat next to Cassius and slammed the door shut so they couldn't get in. Cassius was laughing so hard Raven was sure tears were going to start spilling soon. The other student, Millicent Bulstrode, sat on the other side and was also laughing hard. "You're both so rude! You're not going to help me?"
