Prompt #21- That's where blood's supposed to be. Marvel- Irondad AU where Tony lived post Endgame

"No pipsqueak. Not happening." Peter adamantly refused to let the big brown eyes in front of him sway his stance.

"But Peter," Morgan wedeled, "You know Dad's been training me. I'm good with the tech and since Harley's out with the flu you don't have backup."

Just because Peter had been planning on a Spider-Man and Iron Lad team up did not mean he couldn't handle this case alone. Or call one of his other super buddies to act as back up.

"Morgan-"

"Peter." She shot back in the same tone, hand on her hip.

Peter bit back a groan. Had he been like that at 15? Probably. No wonder Tony had said numerous times Peter would be the death of him. Saying no was becoming harder by the second. With Peter just shy of his 30th birthday this should not be so difficult.

"You don't even have your own beta armor yet." Weak sauce excuse.

Morgan narrowed her eyes at Peter. "Two words. Nano. Tech. The suit adapts to the person wearing them."

Some genius Peter was supposed to be if he couldn't even come up with a convincing argument. "Tony will kill me."

Morgan shrugged nonchalantly. "I could go out with you... or ya'know do my own test flight. Down by the docks."

"And moving to manipulation. Low blow."

"Pfft I've heard about your early days. At least I've had several years of training rather than just going willy-nilly."

"Hey, rude. Not all of us got to grow up with superhero parents, aunts, uncles, and assorted sort of cousins. And some of us have superpowers."

Morgan stuck her tongue out at Peter.

"That's not a viable response."

"Says you."

Peter groaned. "You're coming out even if I keep saying no aren't you?"

"Yep!" Morgan popped the 'p' loudly.

Throwing his arms in the air, Peter shook his head. "You're explaining to Tony when this slaps us in the face."

Morgan grinned. She pressed a button on her bracelet. Vibrant purple and white nano-tech armor covered her frame in seconds.

Peter raised an eyebrow as he appraised the suit. "Not sure Harley's gonna dig the color change."

"Holographic projection." Morgan's thrusters burst to life. She hovered a foot above the floor. "We'll, we goin?"

Knowing he couldn't stall anymore, Peter sighed and pulled his mask over his face. Together they shot out of the penthouse windows and into the dimming evening.

As they went Peter had to admit - to himself, definitely not to Morgan- that she flew through the air with a natural grace. A tiny part of Peter twinged in jealousy, but he reminded himself what he'd just told her- she'd been raised by an extended family of superheroes. She had a leg up on pretty much anyone her age where 'superheroing' was concerned.

'Focus Parker. Mission at hand.' Mentally shaking himself Peter turned his attention to paying attention to his surroundings.

It only took a few minutes to reach the docks. In the growing darkness Peter's spidey-sense thrummed quietly. He pulled Morgan behind a large shipping container.

"The meeting should be happening in a half hour but I'm pretty sure there's already some players here. I'm going to go ahead and scope the area. Stay here and keep an eye out for heat signatures."
