Maddox POV

We wake in the morning to pounding at the door. Cannon's eyes slam open and we both jolt up.

"Are you going to fucking stay in bed all day, or are we going to talk."

Henry.

"You're lucky I didn't kill you in your sleep, asshole. We'll be down when we're ready. You can wait. Or leave."

Cannon gives me a thankful look and squeezes my hand. We get up and get dressed. He's in his usual black button up and dress slacks with dress shoes. I opt to cover more skin today. I don't trust Henry. I throw on black cargo pants, white Air Force ones and a black crop top that comes down to just above my belly button.

"You're so sexy."

Cannon comes up behind me, giving me a hug. He kisses my neck.

"Are you going to be okay?"

He sets his jaw and nods. He slides something into the back of my waist band.

"Don't walk around without one anymore, love. It's too dangerous."

I feel the sleek barrel of the gun and nod. We head out of the room and down the stairs.

...

"What the fuck do you mean they're after us?!" Cannon booms.

Henry just dropped a bomb. Apparently, we really pissed off the Russians by capturing both their leaders.

Worth it.

Agreed.

Now, they're wanting to end the alliance, which means war I guess.

"Don't talk to me like that, boy." Henry spits out. All of the sudden, he's being thrown back into the wall; Cannon's muscular hand wrapped tightly on his throat.

"You won't ever call me that. Ever." This is the angriest I've ever seen him. His hands shake and his eyes grow far more dangerous by the second. I finally realize why he's so feared. This is the ruthless side of him.

Calen comes up and puts a hand on his shoulder, shaking his head. We need him. He has someone in the inside with the Russians.

He steps back. Calen comes to stand by me, slightly putting his body in front of mine.

Love this guy.

Agreed.

They continue to talk and yell at each other.

"You need to give Dakota back to avoid a war."
Henry says.

"No." Everyone in the room chimes in.

Henry looks to all of us with an annoyed expression.

"Look, is your pride really that important?"

I feel my face heat up with rage. My fists clench and unclench as I stare angrily at this asshole.

"He killed her twin." Calen grits out.

"Is that worth going to war over?"

"Yes." Cannon says. His jaw set. I know that look. That's they 'test me, I dare you look'. The father and son pair stare at each other with fury. They look identical. Terrifying.

"Well, I don't care. I'm going to get him and return him. I'm doing this for the family. You'll thank me later."

With that he spins on his heal and heads to the door.

I run so that I'm ahead of him.

I pull my gun out and aim it for his foot.

"Keep walking. Please, give me yet another reason to hear you scream."

He chuckles.  "You're not going to shoot me."

I look to Cannon. He wears a massive smirk. This guy doesn't know me.

You're fucking crazy.

Yup.

I aim at his foot and shoot. He hunches over with a grunt and grabs his now bleeding appendage.

"Like I said," I lean down to whisper in his ear, "You don't fucking know me."

I get up and head towards the cells. Time for Dakota to die. I have a gut feeling that if we keep him alive, someone will come and retrieve him. He doesn't deserve that.

The guys call after me, but my mind is going to fast to hear them. Do I shout him in the head like he did Jax? No. Too easy. Stomach? Yeah. Yeah I think so.

I reach the doors and shove past everyone, running to the basement. I find him now tied to the ceiling, blood covering every inch of skin. He looks up through dazed eyes. I pull the gun out.

"Any last words?"

He tries to speak.

"Actually, I don't care." I shrug and laugh. I shoot him once in the shoulder. "That's for Cannon."

Then, I shoot him once in the stomach. "That's for Jax." My voice cracks and I turn and leave him there to die.

Calen and Cannon wait for me upstairs. I wipe a stray tear that slips.

Cannon comes forward and wraps his arms around me.

"It's okay, my love."

I take a few breaths.

...

We're all in the hot tub, trying to soak this day away, and failing miserably. Henry is inside, nursing his foot.

Like a little bitch.

Agreed.

"Well, are you ready for the exciting part of this business?" Calen asks, waggling his eyebrows.

"War is exciting?" Cannon muses.

"Oh, please. Don't pretend you're not a little excited to kill some Russians."

Cannon chuckles and pulls me onto his lap. Running small circles on my thigh. A hint of that dangerous adrenaline in his eye.

"Looks like we're headed back to Russia. Get everything ready to load up tomorrow?"

Calen nods.

Well, shit.

Here we go I guess.
