CHAPTER 5 - THE AGREEMENT

JINYOUNG

I had an hour break before resuming filming. I used the spare time to eat and took some rest. I put my earphones on and started to turn on the music. My, it wasn't mine actually, members were releasing their solo projects. I've heard Jaebeom's hyung album, and it was good, but they weren't my taste. He was always slightly toward the R&B stuff, while I sticked to the pop. Bambam's was pretty good. I thought he would come up with something more hip-hop like Jackson, but apparently he managed to surprise everyone with his songs selection. Even Jaebeom's hyung was surprised.

Jackson's was a weird mix though. His solo changed toward more ballad while his Panthepack crew was still doing hip hop. Gee, I couldn't understand what was going in his head nowadays. Though me and him were the same, we were both working machine. I never stopped filming, one project after the next. While he had numerous projects. From his solo single, to his third cookies, and then Panthepack. He even got to tour all over China as well. It was crazy seeing his IG. As if COVID didn't exist there.

Youngjae was the last one to release his album. He reached out to me last week, telling me that he had this challenge going on. I knew that he's been doing it with the rest of the maknae and Jaebeom hyung, but I didn't check my social media that much so I had no idea that Mark hyung and Jackson have sent them to Youngjae. Ahgase has been waiting for my turn to join in the challenge as I was the only one left. They edited the rest of the members as if they were dancing together. Anyway, he called and asked if he could see me during my breaks on the shoot. I gave him my okay.

It would be good for the fans to see that we were still together. It would a good promotion for both us as well. He would get to promote his album better, and I got to promote my drama as well. It's been awhile since I danced though, but he assured me that his choreography was really simple. The other members learnt it quickly, he said, with the exception of Jaebeom hyung. It was funny though. Hyung was one of the dancing machine in our group, so it was weird that he didn't get it right as fast as the other. Maybe he was getting old alright.

I remembered the whole fandom roared in excitement when my part of the challenged was leaked to the social media first. Then Youngjae uploaded it with him dancing side by side with me. Again, Ahgase edited it so all seven of us seemed to be dancing together. He was right though. The choreo was pretty simple. I was pretty grateful for that. I wasn't that good in dancing. I remembered our last choreography for our last album. I barely survived the "Last Piece". Luckily I managed to fool everyone though. The promotion period was shorter as well, so I was saved by that as well. When I released 'Dive', I made sure that it was an upbeat song without any choreography. A staff nudged me and told me it was my turn to shoot. After several more hours at the set, I could finally go home at last. A place that I wanted to avoid, but I had no choice.

"What's wrong?" I asked my manager. He's been on the phone since we got into the car.

"It's the butler. The nurse and the doctor in charge, they were taking pictures on your house and posted it on their social media. Though it wasn't clear that it was in your house, but still, they breached their contract," he said grimly.

Aishh, the same problem again, I grunted. But wait, did he just say the doctor also breach his contract? Suddenly an idea crossed my mind.

I passed another day without hearing from that jerk or his manager. I started to feel better. Maybe it was just my bad luck for meeting him that night. Today I got the afternoon shift. I was just arrived and finished briefing when my phone buzzed. I looked at my phone, I didn't recognize the number. I usually would decline the call, but since there weren't any patients yet, I decided to pick up the call.
