Song: Door (Your Moon) by Jeong Sewoon

Wonwoo's POV:

I quietly followed the girl that I was assigned to. She kept roaming around inside the gadget room to check out a lot of stuffs, especially high-tech ones.

"Wow." She was engrossed as she observed each if the item, studying them as if she will be taking an exam.

"Are we going to use this small earpiece at the ball?" She gently touched it, maybe thinking that it's too small.

"Yes. It's for communication." I put both of my hands inside my pocket. I have nothing to do but to keep in touch of her. She's my partner nevertheless.

"Do you guys do this for a living? Are you just faking your classes or, are you really attending one?" She quietly peeked at me. What comes into her mind to question that? That's so random though.

"That's out of nowhere." As I was just being myself, I never intended to surprise the girl in front of me. She immediately backed off a little, as she tried holding back her fear. She looked away, afraid of what will I say next.

To explain furthermore, my cold tone sometimes comes out instinctively. I never wanted to say those words with an irritating tone, honestly, but it already happened. As I observed her reaction, I wanted to apologize, but the mood isn't complimenting with what I will say. Until I ran out of time.

"I'm sorry." She looked away from me and left her place. She took a few steps farther from me and averted her gaze again at the gadgets.

She looks fragile and weak. I think small words are enough to break her, which can come from me anytime. I should be mindful soon.

"You're humming a song." I carefully placed myself beside her. Why though? Maybe because I'm hoping that she'll forgive me, indirectly. Just a smile can assure me that what happened earlier was nothing for her.

"Oh, y-yes." Repeating thrice, she was busy looking around. She forgot that I'm still here.

"What is it?" I tried adding a bunch of questions to save this awkward situation.

"It's from Kang Sarah sunbaenim. Don't tell me you don't know her, she's really famous." I can see a glimpse of happiness from her eyes. It's shining too bright to not notice it.

"She's my idol."

"Oh." I don't know what to respond next.

"Well, what do you like about her?"

"To start off, she's very pretty and kind. She's so sweet and she treats everyone fairly. She sings, dance, acts, and even became a model through various magazines. Sometimes, I want to be like her. Everyone loves her." Aside from being too bright just by mentioning her idol's name, I somehow observed pain from it. Isn't it ironic?

I kept quiet.

"What if, just what if, someone is waiting for her? What if someone loves her already? As a fan, wouldn't you be mad?"

"It's actually good. I'm just a fan and I can't interfere with what she wants. If she already has a boyfriend, I'll still support her."

I plastered a small smile. She's really kind.

"Friends?" Her eyes popped from my sudden request. But nevertheless, I knew that she's going to accept it.

"Friends."

Vernon's POV:

"Freaking what? You're my partner? Tsk." As we entered the bow and arrow site, Chaeyoung instantly blabbered a lot of things that causes to stress me out.

"What's your problem with me? You're always mad when I'm around." Chan responded, talking back at the small girl. Actually, Tzuyu and Mingyu is at the other side of the room, it's just not obvious because the other two are so loud that we can't even reach their level even if we shout.

"I can sense negativity coming from you." Silently observing Chan, his jaw dropped down to the floor as his eyes raged from annoyance.

"You-"

I didn't bother listening to them furthermore since I can't handle it. On one of the corners of the room, a soft sofa was already placed so I decided to sit there to runaway from the busy, tiresome, sight, of the two arguing shorties.

As always and as usual, I plugged in my earphones and let myself absorbed to my own relaxing vibe.

I should take a nap.

I continued jamming with the songs playing on my earphones when suddenly, I can hear an unclear mumbling sound of a person beside me. I tried to convince myself that it's nothing, yet, my senses say that I'm wrong. Someone was now poking my arm and I have no choice but to open my eyes once again.

"Vernon?" She mumbled as I unplugged my earphones. I sighed. It's Dahyun.

"What is it?" I asked softly. Up until now, why can't I still move on? Although that I'm the one who keeps avoiding her, I'm still can't take off my eyes off of her. Are my rules useless when I'm the one disobeying them after all?

"I just want to say thank you last time when I fainted. Chaeyoung said that you're the one who brought me in your apartment." She sat beside me, fidgeting her fingers because she knew that it'll always be awkward when it comes to the two of us.

"That's nothing." I responded back.

And the silence grew louder.

"Why did you gave up easily?" I'm already confused but got more of it when I realized that she's not looking at me at all. I mean, you're suppose to look at the person when you ask them questions, so that they would verify if you're really talking to them. Now I don't have the clue if she's just spacing out or she's really asking me a question.

"What did you say?" She immediately flinched beside me as I bothered her.

"Nothing."

Well, I guess she's spacing out after all. Am I lying if I won't admit that I hope she came to her senses earlier?

All that I can do is to hope right now. I can't rewind the time and say that everything's okay.

Maybe it's better off to stay as friends.
