Gordon apologizes to me yesterday for missing our date at the coffee shop without notice. He invites me over to his place to hangout to make it up to me. I lay down on his comforter, messing up his made bed. The scent buried in the covers smells of a mix between him and washing detergent. He closes the door the behind him. A cheeky grin appears as he leans down to the point where our noses brushes past each other.
He pecks me on the lips, "I'm really sorry for missing our date, babe." Gordon gracefully rolls off and beside me, where he traces around my forearm. The scar from Tamara a year ago still etches there, but much of it has already faded. The mark that started at the beginning of our relationship, reminding me of how far we have gotten since.
"What have you been up to?"
"Ethan had a hangover. He called me over last minute." I nod in understanding, after all, Ethan was one of his closest friends. He tend to party more than an average person, and Gordon usually plays as his designated driver afterwards.
We lay there while he's playing with my hair, and watching a random show on the TV in his room.
His touch was rougher than Chase's, who touches me in a more delicate and soothing manner. Wait, ugh, why am I thinking about him when I'm lying here with my boyfriend?! The thought uneases me a bit, but brings a smile to my lips just thinking about him.
Gordon lifts his head off mine, "what's the matter? Do you want to do something else?"
"No, I'm fine. Just thinking about... Things." I forgot I never mentioned Chase to him before. It would be rude of me to bring him up when we're in the middle of enjoying a moment. Yes, I'll have to bring him up sooner or later.
He kisses the side of my temple, and leans against my head, "let's go grab a drink." We got off his bed and outside in matters of minutes. A Starbucks shop was a few blocks away, and we decided to walk there.
The sun kissed my skin, and a slight breeze blows by. His hand intertwines with my mine as we walk, and soon we reached the shop. I got us a table by the window, while Gordon orders our drinks. My phone suddenly rings, showing a notification for a one new message. I quickly open it up.
Chase: hey :) wanna come over for dinner tonight? mom says its pizza night. not that you'd like to taste her cooking anyways :P
I was about to reply back when Gordon appears with two iced latte. One of them is vanilla, just the way I like it. "Thanks." I take my cup from him.
He sips on his latte when his phone rings, "oh, hey." Another sip. "Mhm, sure. Stop that, and stay where you are."
A glance at me. "Okay, I'll be there in ten." Ends call.
"What's going on? Did something happen?" I questioned.
"Huh? Oh, nothing much. I'm really sorry, but I got to go take care of something," he mumbles, his face flushes a bit red, "I'll see you later?"
I blinked, "sure..." He pecks me on the cheeks lightly and scurries down the street in a rush. That was odd. He's been acting strange lately, but I'm assuming that it's because he's busy with something.
I open back up my messages, and reply back to Chase.
Riley: okay, I'll be there and stop making fun of your mom's cooking, it's rly good :P
He responds back minutes later.
Chase: *gasps are you sick ril? i'll pick you up to see a doctor right now... DON'T MOVE
Riley: haha funny. I'll see you later
Chase: ik i am ;)
I laugh out loud, causing some bypassers to stare at me.
