Inside
my head,
the inner theatre of my mind
There beckons a play
everyday
in an endless stretch of time.
They're constantly laughing
at my agony
smiles with jagged teeth.
In the tormented little stage
they play out with rage
the darkness that haunts me--
The curtains never fall,
and I don't remember the rise.
The dreadful day
this theatre played
for the very first time.
"Unleash the Beast!"
said the voices
"From the darkest of your safes."
"UNLEASH THE BEAST!"
they screamed,
but they saw the answer on my face.
And so constructed, they did,
this play
with its dreadful scenery
to never forget my pain
and the forbidden insanity.
To stretch on and on in eternity
until the key they find
to unleash the beast
set madness free
and I'll forever lose my mind.
