it seems that san hadn't gone very far when he said he was going hunting, I find him biting his lip in pain by the water. "oh god, san are you alright?"
he shakes his head, in too much pain to even speak.I see that he's holding his leg close to him, red surrounding the floor underneath it. he's injured. I gently remove his hands and spread his leg out, san stutters out a breath and I apologize before shock takes over me. where he was holding his leg a giant bite was shown. I almost throw up at the sight of it. I'm about to ask san what happened before I realize that he's now unconscious. I frantically pick him up in my arms and start racing back to our house.
"don't die on me, san"
when I'm inside I rummage through all the chests, throwing everything everywhere until I finally find the extra cloth I had for our wrists. I feel a little weight come off my shoulders upon finding it before I start rushing again to find anything else that could help him. I end up with a giant lemon, cloth, fiber, and a thin needle left behind from making a pickaxe. no time could be wasted as I apologized in advance before squeezing the juice of the lemon onto the wound. even though san is still knocked out, I can see him grimace from how it burns. I bring a leaky bottle of water over his leg to rinse some of the blood off then take in a deep breath before tying the fiber to the thin needle and bringing it into his leg. the first stitch is the hardest. I've never done anything like this before so I can only pray that it'll turn out okay.
by the time I'm done stitching his leg up, the sun is peeking out from the horizon. I'm exhausted to be clear. san's still sleeping while I lay my head on his chest to listen to his steady heartbeats. they soothe me after what just happened. I'm glad he doesn't wake up during this time or he'll realize just how much I actually care for him, and that'd be a bit embarrassing for me.
he'll be all, "bro are your laying on my chest?"
"you got me asking what we are and shit"or "man, you're attracted to this? I think not socializing with other people is getting to you"
either response would send me flying into hyperspace.
san stirs in his sleep and I sit up with the best posture I've had in my life. I coo as he rubs his sleepy eyes and blinks awake. he stares at me in confusion, "do you not remember anything?"
"well, I'm just a bit disoriented, care to tell me what happened after I went to heaven and came back?"
"bold of you to assume you went to heaven, but okay"
"shut up"I close my mouth seriously so that san looks at me with a weird face.
"I'm joking, please continue"
I hold a giggle at his disappointed face, he's so done with me.
"first off, after you passed out I had a midlife crisis a-"
"that's for old people"
I raise my hand, my lips open in all seriousness.
"oh my god, can you let me do what I need to do"san opens his mouth to say something, but then closes it as he lost what he was going to say.
"anyway, continuing, I brought you back here and stitched you up real good, and it took me really long so you best appreciate it"
san seems to have remembered just how horrible the bite was as he goes to see what I did. I fold my arms into my chest, proud of what I've done.
"...did you watch grey's anatomy to figure this out? it looks like shit"
my lips press together in a straight line as I put my hand down flat on his wound and press on it.
he gasps, curling into himself, "I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry. thank you, oh great one, for sparing my life"
I smile, satisfied.
"that's more like it, and I don't watch that shit, so don't even start"san smiles, "thank god I'm not the only one who doesn't watch that, if anything the good doctor is where it's at"
I fall asleep next to san after we lose ourselves in conversation. I'm not sure what he does after I doze off on him, but I know that when I wake up there's a blanket draped over me.
