August 5th, 2016.

This was not how her life was supposed to be, no one wanted such an ending.

Yes, she was born and raised in the UK and was deeply British, but she had felt Brazilian for six years because of her marriage and had lived so long in Vila Maria, a neighborhood of Sao Paulo in beautiful Brazil.

Beautiful thanks to her husband, Emiliano Senna da Silva, one of the best people she has known in her life. Which made her greet each day with a smile on her face and which made her the happiest woman in the world.

As much as his family, Emiliano loved motorcycles and they became his undoing. This lively 30-year-old man died in an avoidable accident.

If only he would listen to me and stay home ... Danielle felt her eyes wet. On the taxi ride, she didn't want to cry in front of the driver and her little daughter Hallie, for whom she had to be strong.

Two months ago she was happy in her husband's home country, and today she was returning to her own, depressed and not motivated for anything. Hallie was the only one who kept her sane.

She looked at the four-year-old who was asleep in her arms. She was so similar to Emiliano.

Danielle wiped the corners of her eyes, noting the driver glancing at her from time to time.

—We'll be there soon, ma'am — he said politely, and Danielle watched the rain beating against the glass.

She thought she would be in Britain only occasionally, visiting her parents and brother. Parents were not in favor of her relationship, let alone the marriage with the suspected Brazilian, in their opinion. Only her twin brother Dante showed her support, for which she was immensely grateful.

When Hallie was born, the relationship with her parents warmed, and they came to Danielle for a few days. Danielle lived with her husband and daughter in a modest house. Emiliano was an IT specialist and earned well. His mother lived nearby.

Her mother-in-law, Vivienne, had her own business and helped them as much as she could. As a widow, she had a partner who was wealthy. So it was fine.

After Emiliano died, Danielle lived with her and Hallie for a month. Vivienne wanted her daughter-in-law and granddaughter to stay with her, but without Emiliano Danielle, she couldn't call Brazil her home.

She decided to return to Great Britain, having promised her mother-in-law that they would be in constant contact.

And thus Danielle Senna da Silva returned to her native country with her little daughter and a few suitcases.

She did not want to stay with her difficult parents, so she was supposed to stay with her brother Dante for now. He also had a hard time, although his relationship with his parents seemed to be better than before.

Dante was gay and lived a life of complete freedom. He recently broke up with his boyfriend whom he planned to marry and had a spare room.

When his sister found herself in the worst moment of her life, he immediately offered to return and help her.

— You have a family here — he assured her. —Maybe it's not always colorful, but we can do it. You are not alone, Dani.

So she did. She packed her and her daughters' things, taking some Emiliano's souvenirs and returned to the country. From the airport, she called a taxi and drove to her brother's apartment.

Once she was there, Dante was waiting for her on the stairs. As the taxi pulled up, Dante stood up with a broad smile. He paid the driver, and when he got the two suitcases out of the trunk and Danielle stood on the sidewalk with Hallie in her arms, he looked at her longer.
