August 25th, 2016.

Danielle hadn't told anyone about Dominic's attack - George was the only insider. The young woman was afraid that Dominic would want to take revenge on her, so she gave up renting a studio and moved with Hallie to her parents.

They were both delighted that their daughter and granddaughter would live with them, but suspicious Cindy wanted to find out why Danielle had given up on the rented apartment.

Danielle remained stubbornly silent, however, and Cindy stopped asking. In those few days, Danielle spoke to George only once, and it was only for a moment.

No, she didn't push him away, but she needed strength to shake off the attack and find strength to find a new job.

Danielle was sitting with Hallie in her old bedroom, which they now occupied, when she saw that her phone lit up with an incoming SMS. Danielle picked up the phone and saw that it was a message from George.

Hi Dani,

How are you? Is everything OK? Write back, Y.

Danielle was touched by his concern and wrote back:

Hi,

I feel good. And how are you? And how are Roxie and Abby?

After a while, she heard a soft beep and saw George's message:

My dog ladies are fine, maybe Roxie a little less, but she's making progress with her treatment.

Would you like to have a good time with old George today?

Danielle was intrigued. Apparently George broke up with Fadi for good and needed a friend. Oddly, all of his supposed friends were unavailable when he needed support now.

Danielle looked at her daughter and then wrote:

Okay, but I don't want it to be half a day. I live with my parents now and don't want to burden them with looking after Hallie.

After a long while he wrote:

How about taking Hallie with you? I would love to meet your little daughter.

Danielle put a finger to her lips as she considered the offer. George was very friendly and their relationship grew rapidly.

Will I not disturb you with a small child?

After a while:

You must be kidding. I love kids. And your presence is an honor for me.

Danielle rolled her eyes. George wanted to be nice, but he probably would have had enough of a whining four-year-old in the end, and Hallie, unfortunately, was. She must have felt that her beloved dad was not around, because since Emiliano's death she had been grumpy and at times hard to bear.

Danielle looked at the little girl playing with a Barbie doll when she received another text from George:

What time to pick you up?

Danielle wrote back:

Maybe in two hours?
