A week later Ben and I are doing our usual study session
"So he's going straight from Brazil to Dubai?" Bens voice crackles over FaceTime
"Yeah." I say as I mark down important notes
"So you won't see him until a week before your exam then?"
"Pretty much." I sigh
"You are taking this very well."
"That's cause we text most days and he FaceTimes me." I smile
"Still don't you miss his physical presence?" Ben asks
"Ben." I smile "are you sure you're not missing someone?" I tease
"Why would I be missing Micheal?" He blushes
"I never said Michael."
"Oh well- um-" Ben stutters
"It's okay if you like him you know" I smile
"It's just he's your boyfriend's best friend and you know we had that thing and-" he starts to ramble
"Slow your roll there Benny." I say "First nothings official between Dan and I. Second yes he's Daniel's best friend but why does that matter and third we were ages ago you shouldn't feel guilty for wanting to be happy." I smile
"Thank you." He sighs in relief
"You're welcome. Now c'mon we still have to go over page 87."
Once Ben and I finish our study session I decide to ring Daniel
"Hey handsome." I smile after he picks up
"Hey." I could hear the smile in his voice
"Ben just admitted that he likes Micheal."
"Micheal's been texting him all week." He laughs
"And neither of them have made a move yet?"
"Nope."
"Do me a favour?" I ask
"Your wish is my command." He jokes
"Tell Michael to man up and ask Ben on a date." I laugh
"Will do." I hear him shout to someone else "He's nervous." Daniel says
"Put me on speaker." I say
"Okay you're on speaker." His voice comes through the phone
"Micheal?" I ask
"Yes?" He answers
"Ben likes you ask him out on a date."
"What if he says no?" Micheal asks nervous
"He won't I promise just ask him out." I smile
"You'd better be right." He says as I hear tapping on the other end of the line
"I think he's gonna say yes." I laugh as my phone vibrates with happy texts from Ben
"...he said yes." Michel says sounding shy
"See I told you!" I smile
"Okay you were right." He concedes
"I know." I yawn "I need to sleep but I'll see you boys in a week." I smile
"See you in a week beautiful." Daniel says as he hangs up
I pull on Daniels hoodie he left as I crawl into bed and drift off to sleep
Friday morning I wake up to a text from Ben in all caps
"I HAVE A DATE NEXT WEEK" I laugh as I read the text
"That you do Benny" I smile as I send the text
"I'm internally freaking out." He texts back
"You'll be fine :)" I text as I shake my head
I drag myself from bed before I change and head to class
"Ms y/l/n if you could stay behind." Miss Gravenor asks
"Of course." I nod as the other students file out
"You seemed distracted today" she says as she walks up the steps "that's not like you at all. What's going on?"
"Sorry it's just someone I care for is away and I miss them." I smile as embarrassment crawls up my neck
"Boyfriend?" She asks as she smiles
"Something like that." I smile
"When is he coming back?" She asks
"In a week." I shrug a little sad at the amount of time
"I'm sure it will pass quicker than you think." She smiles "Now go home get some sleep and I'll see you on Monday."
"Of course" I smile as I pause at the door "Thank you Miss Gravenor."
The weekend passes in a blur as Ben and I watch Daniel place 7th in the Brazilian Grand Prix and Lando 5th
"Why do Mondays always come so quick?" I ask myself as I head out for my usual run
As I reach the bench I notice someone sat in my usual place and decide to sit on a different bench but as I get closer I see a familiar face.
"Micheal?" I ask
"Hey." He smiles
"The hell are you doing here?!" I yell as I hug him "You're not supposed to be in for another four days!"
"We came back early." He shrugs
"I missed you." I smile
"I missed you too." He laughs
"Bet you missed Ben more." I tease
"I may have been looking forward to seeing him." Micheal blushes
"Take him out for lunch when we get back." I smile
"Are you sure?" He asks as he looks at me
"Yes besides I'm assuming you bought my honey badger with you?"
"Obviously." He smiles
"Good." I say as I link arms with him and walk back to my apartment where I find Daniel sitting on my sofa
"I see you found my surprise." Daniel smiles
"That I did." I say as I walk over and hug him
I pick my phone up and text Ben to come over to my apartment. 20 minutes later a knock sounds at the door
"I think you should get that Micheal." I smile as he walks over to the door and opens it to a shocked Ben
"Uh hi." Micheal blushes
"Hey." Ben blushes
They both stand staring at each other, clearly nervous.
"Oh my god one of you ask the other out already the tension is dripping!" I laugh as they hug each other
"I um did you want to go on a lunch date?" Micheal asks Ben
"I would love to." Ben smiles as he kisses Micheal on the cheek and they leave hand in hand
"They are so dorky." I laugh
"Yes but so are you miss engineering student." Daniel says as he kisses me
"Mhm." I blush as I nod
"I missed you." He smiles
"I missed you too." I smile as I hug him
"They're totally gonna kiss on that date." Dan says as he heads to the kitchen
"Oh for sure." I nod
