Chapter Twenty: Fuck it
Anala's pov:
People are screaming, crying, and rushing out of the building.
I put away my gun and walk downstairs from the gallery and watch as the people flee out of the doors, practically trampling over security.
I spot Alex towards the corner and run to him. "Where is he?" I ask.
"I saw him run out but I haven't seen him since. Ben and Teague are on their way in."
I look at the doors and a chill runs down my spine. I feel like I can't move. A woman in a red dress is staring at me from the doors and she looks just like... No, It can't be. She's dead.
Vanessa isn't alive. I feel myself getting turned around and I am now facing Alex.
"What's going on?"
I turn back around and she's gone. I think I am just seeing things.
I try to snap out of my trance and get back to what I am here to do. I turn back to Alex and see a man behind him holding a gun. Out of instinct, I push Alex out of the way of the gun and kick the guy in the stomach.
Alex shoots the man who is now on the ground when an arm wraps around my neck, holding me in a chokehold. Then I feel the cold barrel of a gun being pressed against the side of my head. They no longer have me in a chokehold and are tugging on my hair keeping me in place.
Alex stands up quickly holding his gun to the man, but my body is blocking the shot. That's when I see her again. How? This isn't possible.
I see Alex's eyes shifting around me but don't think much of it. I grab hold of the man's arms and flip him over my shoulder and quickly slit his throat. As soon as I stand up I feel another gun being pressed against my head, this time it is Sam holding the gun.
"Such a shame to kill such a beautiful girl like you." His voice is cold and I can see Teague and Ben now looking over at Alex asking what to do.
"Do it." I look directly into Sam's blue eyes. I can sense fear. He probably has never even held someone at gunpoint before.
"W-What?" His voice is a bit shaken but then I hear Alex yell.
"Anala!" I know he is confused as to why I said to do it.
"Pull the trigger, I have nothing left to lose. So do it, avenge your brother." I say with a cold laugh. The truth is I really don't have anything to lose. He would honestly be doing me a favor. I'm not scared of death. I have looked death in the eyes too many times to be scared.
"I will," He says, his voice becoming a little bit louder.
"Really? Cause I don't think you will. I think you are too scared, too much of a pussy to actually do it. I mean you were never even trained for this. It was Will who was supposed to be the Heir. You wanna know something though? I do regret getting him killed that night." Sam looks at me a bit confused, a bit shocked that I am almost remorseful. Almost.
"I should have waited, then I could have killed the whole family at one time. Maybe I would make you watch his death, then your father's, then that sweet mother of yours." His eyes darken and he grabs me by the throat. When he moves his arm, he leaves his stomach open. I quickly grab my knife and stab him and twist it, he falls and I take his gun. I lean down to his ear as he tries to gasp for air.
"Say hello to Will for me, will ya?" I whisper in his ear as he takes his last breath. I then feel an arm tugging at me. I quickly bring my knife to his neck but pull it back even faster.
