15) Nightmare Baby

Morning flew by quickly and the group was at the plane area, going to ride the Cessna Joseph bought. However, there was a problem.

"Hey, hey, hey, hey! Hold on a sec, Mister. Whaddya mean you can't sell us the plane now? You said last night you'd sell it, and even took my money."

"You see, the baby's sick. It's a thirty nine Celsius fever." the man replied. "There's no doctor in this town, so we have to take the baby somewhere else."

Y/N looked at the basket that had the baby in it before hearing footsteps behind her. It was Polnareff and Kakyoin.

"What's up? Some kind of argument?" Polnareff asks her.

"We couldn't get the Cessna because the owner's baby has a high fever," she told him.

"A baby..." Kakyoin said.

'I seem to recall hearing a baby cry...But I can't remember where...' he thought.

"The plane will be back tomorrow night. I can sell it to you after that." the owner told him

"Tomorrow night?" Joseph asks before grabbing his jacket collar. "Someone's life is on the line for us, too. We can't afford to spend two days lollygagging."

"Then, are you going to let that baby die?" the man asks.

Joseph stopped and thought for a moment.

"Um, how about this? Let's leave the baby with these people, who can visit the doctor on their way," the woman carrying the basket suggests.

"Uh, but that's..." Joseph tried to respond.

"The Cessna you are going to buy carries five people, but there's room enough for a baby," she added.

The baby smiled wickedly and Kakyoin quickly notices. However, the baby quickly changes back to normal.

'I could swear I just saw it smile...And it already has teeth...?' he thought.

"You sure, lady? You wanna leave the baby with these guys?" the owner asks.

"H-Hold it. That's also a problem! It's dangerous for a baby to come with us." Joseph told her.

"Alright, we can take care of him," Y/N spoke up.

The others turned to her.

"Even though it might be tough, we can do it. It'll be good if we took care of the baby as well. Besides, he's so cute," she said.

The woman thanked her and placed the basket that had the baby in her arms. The group stared at each other, having a bad feeling. With that, they were on the Cessna, with the baby.

"I said this would be dangerous, Y/N..." Joseph said with a sigh.

"Don't worry, Mr. Joestar," Y/N told him with a smile.

"Yeah. No one would send their Stand after us in the air...We even made sure the plane itself wasn't a Stand." Polnareff added.

"I'm more worried about the Old Man's flying than enemy Stands," Jotaro said.

Kakyoin stared at the baby in Y/N's arms who was peacefully asleep. She was humming a lullaby to him. Part of him wished that she was holding their baby in her arms. He started to get tired all of sudden.
