Yoongi felt his hand twitch. The slight movement jolted him out of his daydream.
He glances down at Namjoon, adjusting himself on the bed so that he can reach over and check his pulse. Last night was too scary. It was traumatizing. Yoongi almost lost him. They all almost lost him. He reminded himself to thank Jimin later. The boy worked miracles.
As he's staring down at Namjoon's peaceful face, smudged with dried blood and tears and dirt, his heart pulls in his chest. His Joon, so hurt and fighting for his life right now. Namjoon risked his life to get to them, to make sure they were all okay. He kept his promises. He brought them weapons and most importantly, he stayed alive for them.
Yoongi cried so hard last night. He couldn't lose Namjoon. Not when the man has become a safe haven for him. Not when he hasn't gotten the chance to pay him back for all he did for them.
And Yoongi sniffles, tightening his grip on Namjoon's hand. It twitches again.
He's crying and when Jimin steps into the room with a bowl of warm water and a towel, he doesn't bother wiping his face. There's no sense in hiding his emotions when everyone was emotionally exhausted and stressed.
"I've never seen you cry so much, hyung." Jimin speaks up softly, taking a seat on the bed next to Namjoon. He dips the towel in the water and wringes it out.
Yoongi watches as he gently wipes Namjoon's face. The sweat and dirt made him look sick and he heard Jimin say something last night about checking Namjoon's skin tone when he's unresponsive. It could let them know if he was to flat line again.
"Yesterday was too much for me." The blonde mumbles in reply. "I could barely stand it when Jeongguk got shot, but almost losing someone twice was just..." and he doesn't finish his sentence.
Jimin knows. How could he not? Everyone ran to him when they had medical problems. He was the emergency person and even with his small degree in medical school, he knew alot. He's helped alot.
Jimin picks up Namjoon's wrist, removing Yoongi's hand from it. He flips it over and searches for a vein to check his pulse. He then glances at Yoongi.
"Can you count sixty seconds out loud for me?"
Yoongi shrugs and when given the cue, he counts. He watches steadily as Jimin focuses and part of him wishes he could be that useful to the team. Jimin was like a walking hospital. The blonde is a bit confused as to why he was counting until Jimin gave a small smile after a minute and placed Namjoon's wrist back on the bed.
"76 beats per minute," Jimin explains. "His heart is pumping blood at a normal pace. He should wake up soon. Has he been moving?"
Yoongi's eyes widen at the thought of Namjoon waking up. It feels like he's been asleep for years when it's only been a day or two but he's very relieved. He missed him. "I felt his fingers move but thats it."
And then, Namjoon's fingers twitch again. Then his hand twists and a he groans slightly. Jimin ushers Yoongi back a bit so he can have space to examine him. He picks up a blood pressure cuff and gently wraps it around Namjoon's upper arm, the one that wasn't injured.
Yoongi gasps quietly when he sees Namjoon's eyes flutter open. He stares at the ceiling for a second before glances at his arm that Jimin held.
"Stay still," the boy mumbles to him and Namjoon blinks slowly but stays still.
"How d-do you feel, Namjoon?" Yoongi asks his and their eyes meet. Namjoon stares at him before closing his eyes and taking a deep breath. He winces, and when the cuff on his arm deflates, Jimin scolds him.
