Unedited"Hyung, please be safe." Jeongguk mutters as he embraces Seokjin in a hug. He holds him for a while, a pinch of anxiety boiling in his chest. Seokjin can see it in his eyes. He's afraid. Scared that he won't come back from their trip. He presses a light kiss on his forehead and Jeongguk smiles up at him.
"It'll only be a little while, okay?"
Jeongguk nods and Seokjin pulls away, closing the front door. He can hear Jeongguk start to fortify and secure it. He huffs, turning around to look at Hoseok and Taehyung. It was their turns to go hunting for supplies as well.
They've chosen a later time than usual, near the late afternoon. The sun would set in about an hour, they were warned to get home before then. No one's ever went scavenging at night so it made them all uneasy. But Seokjin reassured them all that they'd be fine. He even lied to Jeongguk and told him zombies sleep at night so that he wouldn't worry too much.
Taehyung wraps an arm around his shoulders, looking forward to where Hoseok is walking ahead of them. He said he was a bit familiar with the area and since they were literally on the outskirts of Seoul, there were many shops and stores. Not a human in sight, though.
"Are we gonna talk about what happened or is it something you want to forget?" Taehyung mutters as they walk.
Seokjin recalls their kiss in the shower. An unintentional intimate moment between them. Something that wasn't supposed to happen but did. He feels a bit guilty as he thinks about how nice it was to have Taehyung's hands on him, roaming and touching his wet body. But their moment was intimate in a non sexual way.
Seokjin respects Taehyung for bringing it up at an appropriate time. And leaving him the space to decide if he wanted to drop the situation or talk about it.
"Why would I want to forget it?" Seokjin responds just as quietly. The gravel under their feet crunching is the only other noise they hear. No animals, no growling of the undead. Just their timid footsteps.
Taehyung blinks in surprise. "You liked it?"
Seokjin turns towards him with a gentle smile on his face. He steps a bit closer to the younger male and places an arm around his waist. "I did. I really appreciate it, too."
He then turns back to Hoseok who was walking ahead. "I didn't know I needed something like that."
"Hm?" Tae tilts his head a bit, confused.
"Intimacy," Seokjin breathes out. Taehyung seems to understand as he nods. They continue walking for a bit until Hoseok takes them around a corner. There was about two zombies there, eating at a dead dog and a few dead corpses. The stench of rotten flesh is something that they've gotten used to, as well as the sight of dead bodies, but it was still nasty.
Hoseok stares at the zombies for a second, watching them feast on the dog. His heart aches a bit as he thinks about how he could've been one of them. That could've been him onnthe ground eating a corpse. And a fear in the back of his mind unlocked as he recalls Taehyung's words yesterday. They don't know if the process of the virus was somehow slowed due to Hoseok's immune system or if he was just immune all together. It scared him. He wanted to trust that he'd never end up like them but he still doesn't know for sure.
"You okay?" Taehyung taps his shoulder and he flinches out of his thoughts. He nods his head in reply and takes out his dagger, noticing Seokjin with his hatchet on his left side.
They approach the infected creatures and just as they're alerted of their presence, they're killed quietly in an instance. Seokjin wipes the blade of his hatchet off on the zombie's shirt, grimacing at the smell. Hoseok begins walking again and the two follow him.
