I entered the Great Hall and sat down with the rest of the Slytherins. Draco sat in front of me and Pansy and Mattheo sat at my sides. While Dumbledore gave his speech to the new first years that had just entered the hall, my mind wandered. I'd heard this speech multiple times already. My thoughts drifted to the feast. Oh god, food sounded amazing. I was so hungry, and if I didn't get something soon, I would get hangry later. Finally, Dumbledore stared the sorting ceremony. With our last name being Langston, I had a while before my brother got up to the hat. As if right on queue, my other brother, my twin, Nate, came and sat next to Theo, who was right next to Draco. "Oh hey sis!" He exclaimed. "Finally found more friends?" "Oh shut up Nate," I said rolling my eyes, "As if you had any other friends besides Theo and a few Hufflepuffs." "Ha ha, shut the hell up," he stood back up and walked over to the end of the table talking to people I've never met. "Mike Langston," Dumbledore called. Mike walked up to the Sorting Hat.

Mikes POV:

I could could feel my hands shaking as I walked up to the front. I took a deep breath and sat on the stool facing all the students. All I know is that I am not like my family. I don't think I'll be sorted into Slytherin. I feel like Hufflepuff or Gryffindor suits my personality more. God, if I get Gryffindor, I can't go home. Mom will kill me. I'd be a disappointment, a disgrace, the screw up. Dumbledore places the hat on my head. "Ummmm... interesting. You are unlike the rest of your family. You do have ambition and the need to prove yourself, but only to your family. You're kind and daring. Better be... GRYFFINDOR!!" The hat said. Gryffindor. No. I got up and walked to the Gryffindor table. On the way to sit I met Nate and (y/n)'s gaze. They looked shocked and upset. Nate also looked mad, whereas (y/n) looked concerned. I sat down next to the girl I met on the train who also got sorted into Gryffindor. I was still in shock when the sorting ceremony ended and Dumbledore shouted "Let the feast... BEGIN!" Food appeared on the table and most people dug in. I couldn't eat a bite. I was shaking and anxious. What would my mom say?! I feel my siblings gaze, my brother's glare, my sisters worry. Shit

Y/N POV:

My brother, Gryffindor? No, but it makes sense. He never makes fun of non-purebloods, but I mean neither do I. He doesn't care about looks, or proving himself to others, just my mom. "(y/n)? You ok?" Mattheo interrupted my thoughts. "Um yes?" "You don't sound to sure," he rested his hand on my thigh and looked into my eyes. "You can tell me, you know. Friends have to have each others back." His hand, on my thigh. Okay. Don't panic. Reply. Say yea. Yea. Yea. Say it. Just TALK! "Y-y-yea." "So, are you ok?" "Oh right. Yea I guess. Just confused as to why my brother's in Gryffindor." "Is that it?" He looked deep into my eyes, questioning me. "For now. I can't really talk about it here." "Oh, yea?" He said cocking an eyebrow. "Ummmmm..." He gives me a slight smile and winks "Ok darling." My heart starts racing. I look away from his gaze. As I turn I catch Draco's glares. He quickly looks away when our eyes meet. I can't help but think that maybe, just maybe, he has some sort of feelings for me? He turns to Pansy, "Hey Pansy," he whispers, "Come to my dorm tonight. I have something to show you." At that Pansy gets red and looks away.

The feast finishes and Dumbledore releases everyone to the common rooms. "I'm going to bed. I need energy for the party tomorrow." I head up to my room but Mattheo pulls me back. "What did you wanna say earlier?" My heart starts racing. "Oh um." "Come on darling. Don't make me have to force it out. Spill." He put his hands around my waist and pulled me in close. He leaned in and whispered "Or is that what you want, darling?"
