"Armin, I need to confess something." Jean's eyes turn to me once more. I could tell he was serious, yet they looked so full of sorrow.
"Hm?"
"Our last mission," He hesitated, "I didn't fully 'complete' it."
"Jean? What do you mean?" My voice got quiet and my eyes got fuller.
He turned his head back towards the ocean, not looking at it, but looking past it. So I did the same.
In the distance, a faint mix of a roar and yell could be heard.
"Jean." I looked back at him. "What didn't you do?"
The scouts will return.
