The room was completely quiet when I woke up. I focused on the noise around, but I could only feel a presence in the room. When I opened my eyes, I saw that Nixon was sitting on a chair, staring at me.

I sat up from the bed, and kept my eyes on him.

"I need to go home," I told him, my voice still sounding groggy.

"You can forget about that idea. I'm not letting you go," he said, not looking in the least bit worried.

"If I'm not at home and my brother goes to look for me, he'll know something is up," I reminded him.

"I'm not scared of your brother," Nixon casually replied, while giving me a smug look.

"You're being a jerk," I told him, while I crossed my arms.

He remained quiet, but continued to stare at me.

"Yesterday, when I went to go visit my dad, he told me about his plans," I said, looking down at my legs.

I propped up my knees, while resting my back on the headboard of the bed. I heard Nixon move around on the chair he was sitting, but I didn't turn to look at him.

"I didn't know he wanted to do that. That's why my brother got so mad when you were there yesterday. He's trying to convince my dad not to force this marriage thing on me. Then you show up and he finds out I'm sort of seeing you or something," I continued, still not knowing how to call my relationship with Nixon.

I hadn't noticed Nixon had walked toward me. That was, until he had taken a seat on the bed, right in front of me.

"You didn't know he was doing that?" He asked.

I finally looked up at him. He still had a doubtful look in his eyes.

"You're so stupid," I said, while shaking my head at him.

Nixon looked taken aback by my words, before he frowned at me.
