That night, I went to sleep in peace.

While we were eating, in a table that seemed fit to occupy over twenty people, Nixon had made the arrangements to bring Preston here with me.

After that, I couldnít stop smiling. Everything was still a mess, but slowly, things were falling into place.

As much as I tried to stay mad at Nixon, I couldn't. When he asked me if it was alright for him to sleep in the bed with me, I gladly accepted.

Even though I hadn't asked for anything, just before we went to bed- an older lady brought some things.

There were loads of fancy bags waiting for me- different sizes and different colors. It was obvious someone had gone shopping.

"My mother, she wanted to meet you. I told her you weren't feeling well today. The clothes are her present to you," Nixon said, after I finished reading a small card from his mom.

It felt strange that she'd done that for me, but it made me smile.

Now, I was lying down with Nixon pressed to my back. Preston would get here tomorrow night, and I was already counting down the hours to be able to see him. Clay was coming with him.

"I don't want to leave you alone," Nixon said the next morning.

I had just woken up, and I found him dressed and ready for the day.

"I'll be fine. I don't want to leave the room though. The people here are weird," I told him.

He smiled at me, running the outside of his hand over my cheek.

"I think I would also prefer for you to stay here in the room. I don't want you running into any trouble, especially if hardly anyone knows that you are my mate."

"Should I be worried?"

"No, you shouldn't. I've warned everyone from the palace. My parents, the guards, and the staff should be the only ones here. On occasions, we have the odd visitors. They are the ones that worry me," Nixon said, furrowing his brows.

"I'm getting you guards," he said, placing a kiss on my forehead and getting up from the bed.

"Guards? You think I'll need guards? Now that is something that worries me," I told him, shaking my head.

"I don't want any surprises. After I present you to everyone in the kingdom, then I'll feel safer with having you free on your own," Nixon said.

I wasn't sure what that meant, and I liked it better that way. I'd only been here a day and already I could see a lot of differences between this place and the outside world.
