Ace
I didn't know what to say. I'm not exactly surprised that he's gay, but all those times trying to set him up with girls. I hope he isn't mad that I didn't figure it out sooner, I'm his best friend I should've known.
"Ace?" I looked at him
"Hmm?" He looked scared
"Are you mad at me?" I just stared at him for a moment.
"I am nowhere near mad at you Mark, I was scared that something happened to you." I watched him look at the ground and it felt like he was hiding something else from me, but I knew he was probably still a bit hung over so I dropped it. I was just glad he was ok, and not in a trunk somewhere.
"Oh, I'm glad." He seemed really worried that I would be mad at him.
"Me too."Mark
I couldn't breathe, I was absolutely terrified that he was going to be angry with me. I don't really know why, he hasn't lashed out at me in about 3 years. And that was a bad week for his family.
"Oh, I'm glad." He seemed frozen in place, he looked sad but I don't understand why.
"Me too."
"Sooo..." I laughed a bit awkwardly "wanna get some lunch?"
"Yeah, sounds good." He stood up then stopped turning to look at me. "Did you want to take a shower first or anything?" Oh crap I forgot that I probably looked terrible from the crying and drinking.
"Umm, yeah I'll be back in a few minutes don't leave." He laughed
"I don't plan on it."
"Good."
__________That was a much needed shower, I feel much better. Once I got out Ace told me that he wanted to take me to a cute little Café. When we got out of the car the wonderful smells of coffee, bread, and pastries surrounded us. Walking in the Café I felt a brief wave of peace, and even though it didn't last long it felt good. I saw him look at me and he looked strangely upset but he tried and failed to hide it behind a smile.
"Pick a seat for us and I'll get our food."
"Alright, wait do you know what I want?" He looked at me all flabbergasted and placed a hand over his heart.
"A double chocolate muffin, and a Carmel Macchiato with two pumps of chocolate, with two cherries on the side. Oh and no whipped cream. Right?" I just stared at him
"Oh um yeah actually...Thanks." I shake my head and find a booth to sit at.
"Here you go." Ace set our tray down and cleared his throat. "Soo..." I raised my eyebrow at him.
"Soo... What?" I knew it was bound to be awkward for a while but this kinda sucks. "Are you uncomfortable with my um whole being gay thing?"
"No pshh I just I don't know what to say." And just then I thought of a terrible great topic.
"Have you talked to Krissy?"
