Selina and Cin
For most families, children bring happiness and joy. That wasn't the case for the Akridge family. The mother and father had always wanted a baby boy, to carry on the Akridge name, but after the birth of their daughter, things took a turn for the worst. When the baby was born, they wanted to name him Charles VIII, as it was a special family name that had been in the family for around two centuries, but when the mother and father found out it was a girl, they named her Cin, because she was, well, a sin to the family.
---
When Cin was able to start school, her parents would endlessly push her to learn more, do more and achieve more. They wanted a spotless report card as well as a spotless attitude. Cin thought school was an escape from the horror she faced at home. When Cin was in 3rd grade, that's when her parents started abusing her. They would physically abuse her, instructing her not to say anything about her injuries and scars to anyone. They would verbally abuse Cin, telling her she wasn't good enough. They would emotionally and mentally abuse her, making Cin depressed for months on end.
When Cin started middle school, she spent more time at the library and drawing in class instead of paying attention to her teachers. When she got home, the walls in her room became her friend. Her only friend for any case. Cin would draw on the walls, creating an imaginary world she dubbed Arachna. In Arachna, everyone wanted to be her friend. In Arachna everyone was under her rule.
---
Later in Cin's life, she drew more and more. She drew monsters, she drew villagers, she drew anything and everything. Cin poured more and more of herself into the walls. She used Arachna to escape her life, not only in times of sadness and anger, but all the time. She befriended the monsters, killing humans and people who disobeyed her. Finally she pulled the trigger on her mom, as an act of revenge for her childhood. Cin enjoyed using the gun on her mother so much, she did it again to her father.
Cin was deemed mentally ill, then taken to many Psych Wards and Mental Hospitals, as though staying there would cure her. Cin ended up killing herself, finally being able to plunge herself into her world Arachna. When she arrived in Arachna, she was overjoyed that she made it to her imaginary world.
---
Starting in Arachna, Cin decided to make a home for lost souls, so they would get the safety and happiness that Cin missed out on in her childhood. Soon after she met some villagers and appointed them for jobs at the asylum which she named 'Arachna Haven'. For the oracle, Cin appointed a close friend of hers, Amlyania, for the Aides, she made up an exam for them to take, then if they passed the test, they were Aides, and after a few years, Cin came up with the idea to make multiple Aide ranks for those who have been at Arachna haven for multiple sessions.
---
Cin remembered the monsters she created, and at night she sent them loose. There were Veeoras and they were also called Vee's. Veeoras were monsters that seemed to be illusions. They are not as hostile as they seem, but Vee's can use your thoughts for their own desires which can be dangerous or lustful. Some Veeoras are even helpful in Aide Training and also help out around Arachna.
Cin also created Aravoids in which she created to tourture humans that found out Arachna's dark secret. The more humans they tourture, the stronger they become. Some take more human-like forms, which can tempt you to follow them, while others take more monstrous and dangerous forms. Dark Aravoids are worse, as they do not work for Cin, but they will slowly work and try to destroy Arachna.
The reason why Cin named her world Arachna is because that when she was in adolescence, she found spiders in her room, the attic of the Akridge Manor. She found spiders fascinating and she thought they were her friends. In Arachna, spiders were a sacred animal. Villagers made delicacies with spider floss, fried spider legs were a popular food and spider cakes were made for Arachna Day, otherwise known as Cin's birthday.
---
In Arachna's early years, the patients were more clueless, more trusting to the Veeoras and Aravoids. At night, the patients aimlessly wandered through the Arachna hallways and got mauled by monsters. Through the night, Aravoids patrolled the hallways and Veeoras guarded the outside walls and also helped in the hallways. In the morning, Aravoids went back to hiding.
Around the walls of Arachna, Cin's drawings always showed up. The drawings changed depending on her moods. Sometimes holes would show up in the floor and walls. You were to never touch the holes, nor erase the drawings or else you will face punishment, judgement and tourture worse than death, as one of the new rules stated.
As Arachna was getting more and more patients, Cin realized she had to get more staff, so she hired Achlys, for the Arachna Prioress, Ravana for Priestess, and Kritana for the mortician. More people applied to be Aides, and more patients started following the rules, since more were established
And then... Cin made a grave mistake. At some point in her earlier days, she fell in love. Something that was, and will always be frowned upon. His name was Alexander, and like Cin, was power hungry, and ruthless. Reckless thinking led to a daughter. Cin resented her daughter, as she left Alexander to take care of her. Naming her Selina
Years went by, as Selina grew older, Alexander became known as "The Judge" as he judged rules, and figured out punishments. He didn't care for his daughter anymore, leaving Selina with golden child syndrome. Always wanting to please her mother. Never stopping her work. And aiming to take over her mother's place as the ruler of Arachna, the Aidine.
