My mind was reeling, my head was spinning, and I felt as though I could throw up at any given second. This timeline that I had found myself in wasn't the Utopia I had once thought it was. With that image of my father burned into my memory, I knew there had to be more atrocities lying under the surface. This universe had more horrors to it, they were just hidden.
I needed to know more, to know what was truly lost from this timeline. My father's morality and my uncle's life were the only casualties I truly knew of. But this in itself was a deadly combo. Prior to Ragnarok, my father had a reputation for a lack of restraint. If he wanted something, he would cease at nothing to get it. It didn't matter what was at stake or what he may lose. All that mattered was that he tried. My mother and uncle had been the only ones with the capability of reeling him in, stopping his madness in its tracks. My mother went about this with reason and love whereas Thor went about this through force. However, it now seemed that both of these avenues of restraint had disappeared. I could only imagine what horrors followed.
I needed to figure out more about all of this, and I felt like I really only had one place to turn.
"Is Grimnir here?" I asked as I burst into the palace's leather shop. The air was thick and hot, the smell of fresh nostrils filling my nostrils. Truly, it was a wonder I had even found this place as I had never been before.
The only man there tipped his hat to me before pointing to the next room over. Instantly, I followed his direction, pushing through the door. There, I found Grimnir diligently working.
Immediately he smiled at me, standing from his seat as he wiped his hands on his apron.
"Hello, princess," he said happily, "What makes me so lucky to make your acquaintance twice in one day?"
"I need your help," I said, "Do you have time?"
"Hela, you do realize I work for you, right?" he chuckled, "If you so want to drag me away from my work, I shall not complain."
"Very well then," I said with a nod. My heart was beating rapidly, I felt like I was racing against the clock to get all of this figured out. My stomach was churning and my head was splitting. I was terrified of what may happen or what had already happened.
Grimnir very quickly cleaned up before following me to my chambers. I quickly lead him inside before I locked the door behind us. As I looked at him I realized he was blushing madly.
"Princess, are we..?" he stammered, "Your honor, and I mean-"
"What?" I interrupted, "No. No. I need your help not... Nevermind that. Listen to me."
"Sorry, sorry," he said bashfully as he sat at my desk, "What did you need my help with?"
I sighed, rubbing my face as I contemplated how to go about all of this.
"Well, I need you to promise me something," I said sternly, "I need you to promise that you won't think I've gone mad."
"And why would I think that?" Grimnir asked cautiously, raising a brow.
"Because...I'm not from this timeline," I explained, receiving no more than a blank stare from Grimnir.
"I don't think I'm following," he said slowly.
I sighed, "Look. I don't know how to explain all of this but pretty much what happened is, I killed Hela and passed out then woke up here."
"You killed yourself?" he asked, crossing his arms as he sat back in his chair. I could tell he was desperately trying to understand.
"No, not myself," I corrected him, "I lived on Midgard, after an event called Ragnarok..."
I proceeded to explain absolutely everything to Grimnir. I didn't refrain from a single detail. I told him about Hela, about Sylvie, about my mother, and even my father. I told him all about the world I had come from, how Thor was still alive no matter how plump. I told him how I had ended up here and why. Grimnir listened intently, hanging onto every word as if I were stating Gospel.
