The Royal Wedding

Days were passing really slow for everyone at Malhotra Mansion. Despite of the heated allegations by Manik, Nandini sorted everything for Malhotras. She flew to NYC for work and was supposed to return for her cousin's wedding.

It was late on Monday night when Nandini landed in Mumbai. Raj had informed her that the Malhotras' jet will be there for her, so that she can fly to Udaipur. Nandini made her way with the ground staff and entered the jet. She settled herself when the captain seeked her permission for the take off. Once the jet had taken off she entered the room and turned on the lights to freshen up. She saw sorry written over the headboard. As soon as she touched it, she heard a voice in the room.

Hi Nandini. Don't Panik, it is a recording. After what all I did i didn't have the courage to come infront of you. Nandini, I want to pour out my heart, I know you cannot forgive me, but just listen till the end. When my family asked me for marriage I was doubtful that I am not ready for this responsibility, but then Dadu took me to Amritsar and I got an answer to all my doubts. After DJ left us, I still cannot forget that dark night. A part of me stopped believing in the bright side of the world but then you entered my dark world like the brightest ray of sunshine. I was shocked to see the level of comfort I felt with you. Nandini, from years I have been the protecter, someone who wants things to be his way. But i wanted to change tha thing about myself. That is the soul reason I stopped myself from confronting you each time. I could see everything infront of my eyes but when Amms showed me the papers that you have put claims on their property, I was shocked. I had seen the way they behave with you and it tricked my mind that why are you still living with them. She forged some letter by your mother and I was angry. Though my heart and mind pointed in different directions. On one side it was my family who was head over heels in love with you. Your sacrifice and on the other hand your own family.

I know any amount of sorry cannot take back the words I said that day. The tongue is mightier than the sword. You were right my anger ruined it Nandini. (She had tears in her eyes. She could sense he was crying while recording this.) Bacha, I know I have lost my right to call you but if it's the last time I want to. After you were away, I digged into details of your family. I know their dark secrets and how to keep Mukti safe you have been keeping your mama hidden from the world. Giving in his nasty demands, I know it all. (Nandini was shocked) But i chose not to do anything because it is your right. Nandini I cannot undo the past, but i want one chance to be your person, one chance to earn your forgiveness, one chance to undertake this journey of you and me till we. I know I don't deserve it. But you are my want, my need, my sanity. I realised that you became my protecter, you became my person. I never knew I need someone till the time you came. But i will not force you. I am in the next room. Yes, I wanted to feel your presence. If you want to give me a chance, please knock once, if not then I won't force you. But that doesn't mean that I give up. Heck no, I cannot, and I will not. I will try, try till the time you and me become we. You are and will be my bacha and would be Mrs. Manik forever till you actually become Mrs. Manik. I have something for you.

Nandini was in tears by the time the song ended. She knew that why did Manik say all that. She was hurt beyond, but she also knew that he was not at fault completely. It was the situation. She had not thought that Manil would realise this and make so much efforts.

That was it, Nandini went and knocked the door. Manik's heart was thumping loudly and when he heard the knock he froze. Nandini called him softly and tht was it. The door flung open and he embraced her tightly. "I am sorry, I am very sorry. Maaf kar do mujhe. Maine thod diya apne bache ko. Bahut bura hu main. Chahe phek do iss plane se mujhe but Nandini muh mat modna mujhse, jee nhi paunga. Tum rooh hu meri."

"Shh, bus Manik. Yahi hu mai. Kahi nhi Jaa rhi. Hn, you have to make it up to me. I am upset, broken, I won't lie, I trusted you Manik and it took everything to do that. But i also know that you will earn my forgiveness. I never thought if leaving you. Manik, when I said yes, I meant it. Every relationship has their ups and downs and it was ours. I knew we will come out stronger. I had not thought you will put in so much efforts, just to seek....

"Bus bus.. kaise nhi daalta efforts. Bache ko manana tha apne."

With this he hugged her tightly. Nandini too hugged him back. They got comfortable on the bed and talked about anything and everything. They had their dinner and reached Udaipur in the wee morning hours.

"Manik, will you come with me somewhere? "

"Anywhere with you madam."

With this they came out and Nandini saw a board with her name. She saw 4 cars and nodded her head. Manik chuckled seeing this. They settled their luggage and Nandini smiling interacted with the people there. She then took the keys and both zoomed somewhere.

" You were annoyed seeing the cars?"

"Yrr ye Inka hamesha ka hai."

"They love you baba. "

"I know that, but Aisa kaun krta hai!"

"Acha tell me your favourite memory of Udaipur."

"Manik, this place holds my heart, my childhood, my best and worst moments. This place has seen me open my eyes to the world, from learning to take baby steps to my worst tears and best smiles. This place has witnessed world's best love story, captain and Amma. This place has music in its winds. It has my captain's fragrance in its soil and my heart. I cannot stop talking about and probably will fall short of words."

" I understand. When I came to Amritsar with Dadu, he also had that expression on his face. It's strange know at times hum ek jagah se aise Jud jate hai. Kai baar itne saal kahi aur reh kar bhi vaisa connect nhi bana paate."

"Captain bhi yahi kehte the. You know he took me to Amritsar for the first time in my life and it became our getaway spot."

They didn't realise the time and reached the spot. The light had started hitting the horizon. Slowly as the light increased they saw many flocks of birds leaving their homes to begin there day. The wind had its musical magic. No words were exchanged. Manik back-hugged Nandini and they stood there for a couple of hours. Just soaking in the silence. After the Strom it was a mark of the new beginning. Manik was at ease having her around him. He knew that Nandini has had alot and was determined to give her the best. He knew their life will not be a bed of roses but he promised himself to not leave her alone. It was the beginning of a relationship who had developed a deep rooted trust. For Nandini, though she was hurt, she learnt that communication is the key. Giving up will not lead them anywhere. She knew that she wasn't alone. She had someone to share her best and worst. She wanted to make her parents proud of her choice.
